Since moving to Greensboro I’ve used Rent-A-Center for various furniture/appliance purchases. It’s affordable, easy and to the point. I’m a repeat customer, so this is not my first lease with this store. I never had problems with previous furniture leases, and I want to be clear that the regular staff at the Meadowview store have always been pleasant, professional, and helpful. My issue is with the current manager. I started my current lease last year and did not have any problems until the last few months. I later learned there had been a management change, which tracks with the shift in my experience. Since then, I’ve dealt with poor documentation, conflicting account information, excessive repeated calls, inaccurate statements about my account, and communication that was aggressive, confrontational, and unnecessarily personal. I have also had two negative in-person interactions with the manager when he came to my home. The first time, I did not even know who he was. He showed up after dark and when I asked multiple times through my door and Ring camera, he would not properly identify himself while still instructing me to open the door. As a woman living alone, that was extremely concerning and inappropriate. The problem is not the staff. The problem is the manager’s conduct and the way he handles customers. This will be my last lease with this store.

Ok… this store isn’t the best but isn’t the worst to rent from. I’d say my overall experience is 50/50. Back in June when I went to rent I wanted a couch I ended up leaving with a couch, tv stand, and tv. I was under the impression because I got all the merchandise in a used condition and bundled everything my rent to own would be fairly cheap. So when I was working with Sage he gave me the numbers and the couch’s rent to own went down to 1100 dollars plus paying full retail for the tv stand and tv that’s the ONLY reason I got the tv stand and tv! I have made on time payments for almost 6 months straight up until I had a new debit card ordered by my bank and the payments got interrupted of course, when I was two days late, they hurried me with calls And text messages about the payment I let them know. I was having some debit card issues and I was supposed to receive my debit card In about a week or so I also asked how much I owed on my account The manager told me that I owed $2600 on my account and I had already paid almost $900 towards my account. The math wasn’t mathing…. So mind you with me thinking I was almost about to pay this stuff off this month little did I know I’ve paid almost nothing for months for the furniture that they were auto drafting almost $100 dollars out my account every 2 weeks for? I had to make the decision to give back there merchandise because I will not continue to be scammed out of thousands of dollars for used furniture mind you the tv stand that apparently is worth almost $500 dollars came broken nearly on one side of the stand so My best advice would be Tread lightly with these people because they will scam you if you don’t speak up for yourself or keep track of what you’re paying for and what it’s worth.

Absolutely NOT! I have had the worse experience with Rent a center. Mind you all when I moved up here I had it all together. I got my appliances and was able to make the payments and everything. So, I started falling behind because unfortunately I had to separate from my WFH JOB OF OVER 3years. I asked them to make arrangements to get my account back on track. Well they sent 2 of the workers WILL the one with the long dread locks and another guy. Will would rub up against me... say provocative things to me...rub on me when my kids would walk upstairs and he even exposed himself to me while the other worker was outside in the truck. At the time I was so nervous because I did not want to mess up the business side of things or cause any problems. I felt extremely uncomfortable and disgusted, he would even call me from the work phone to tel me all the things he would do to me(and I'd just be sitting on the phones)while he was taking other customers payments over the phone. I heard him make every call and every payment I heard all the information. So I just kept going along with everything. I've since then blocked the business number and his cell phone from reaching out to me. I would like to tell them the large balance I have still remaining they just tell Will to cover it. I don't even want him to come knock on my door about my account. Because they will hound you for one missed payment. I just stopped answering the door and everything. Needless to say.. I wish I would have never gotten anything from them at all. I even had to hang up on one of the guys for yelling at me on the phone because I had a new account and had already been late 3 times which wasn't my fault since my check would post on different days/time.. it's been a horrible experience but WILL very much violated me and I'm concerned that what if he's done that multiple other women that are home alone when they come around for a missed payment. It's pretty sad but I'm tired of holding back .

Sage is absolutely the best representative I have came across. He took care of me in a timely manner and made sure I was satisfied. This is what great customer service is all about.
I recently returned to Rent-A-Center and had an absolutely amazing experience thanks to Sage! From the moment I called in, Sage was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything went smoothly. They made the whole process easy, stress-free, and even enjoyable. It's rare to find someone so dedicated to great customer service these days. Thanks again, Sage—you’re a rockstar! 👏
