What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Launched in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, it was the first national chain to scale the rent-to-own model, building standardized showrooms stocked with new, name-brand merchandise. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

My recent experience with the Summit Rent‑A‑Center location has been increasingly disappointing. I’ve worked with Rent‑A‑Center in the past without issues, but the level of customer service at this particular store has noticeably declined. On the morning my payment was due, I received multiple calls, voicemails, and text messages in a very short period of time. When I returned the call to acknowledge the messages and explain that I had been busy at work, I politely asked that they reduce the number of calls. Instead of understanding, the representative responded unprofessionally and told me not to “tell him what to do” at his workplace. Frustrated by the interaction, I told them they could pick up the furniture. I explained that the earliest I would be available was Tuesday due to my work schedule, but the representative insisted that I did not have a say in the pickup time and scheduled it for the same day anyway. When I called back to clarify that I likely wouldn’t be home by 6 p.m., I was met with the same dismissive attitude from another staff member, who again told me it wasn’t my decision. The lack of professionalism and courtesy from the staff at this location is the reason I will no longer be doing business with them. In contrast, the Cone Boulevard Rent‑A‑Center location was immediately helpful, respectful, and able to offer me better furniture options at a more reasonable price with more manageable payment terms. The issue isn’t Rent‑A‑Center as a company—it’s the staff at the Summit location. I strongly recommend choosing the Cone location instead if you want a more positive and professional experience.

It was promoted to me as a discounted first payment, but I was giving a full bill without a discount and he’s trying to give me a discount if I order something else through y’all. And is charging almost if not double the price of the actual device
