Disclosure requirements Must disclose total number and amount of payments, total cost of ownership, cash price, description of the property, and any liability or damage waivers.
Payment cap protections Total cost of ownership may not exceed 2.0 times the cash price of the property (200% cap).
Early buyout rights Consumer may purchase the property at any time by paying 50% of the remaining periodic payments plus any past-due amounts.
Repossession rules Merchant must provide at least 5 days written notice of default before repossessing. May not use force, threats, or breach of the peace to repossess.
