VRTO Now Lists Rent-to-Own Tire and Wheel Stores

VRTO now lists stores where you can rent to own tires and wheels. We listed every tire dealer and store we have confirmed: tire and wheel networks such as RNR Tire Express, RAW Wheels + Tires, and RimTyme, rent-to-own stores that also sell tires, and local tire shops. If we missed yours, list your store. It is free. To browse, start at the rent-to-own tires and wheels directory and pick your state.

Last updated October 9, 2026: 972 store locations from 81 companies in 40 states. Counts change as stores open, close, and pass our checks. The live count is always on the tires and wheels page.

Who is in the tires and wheels directory

Three kinds of stores are listed. The first is the tire and wheel networks. On October 9, 2026 the directory held 219 RNR Tire Express locations in 32 states, 102 RAW Wheels + Tires locations in 14 states, and 27 RimTyme locations in 11 states. Each network has one company page that lists all of its stores, such as the RNR Tire Express company page.

The second is rent-to-own stores that carry tires alongside furniture and appliances. Rent One, Rent 2 Own, Showplace, and UHR Rents are among them. These stores keep their normal store pages on VRTO and also appear under tires and wheels.

The third is independent tire shops that offer rent-to-own, such as Tire Genie in Indiana. These are often a single location, and they are listed the same way as the networks.

How we checked the tire shops

A tire shop location is listed only when it matches its Google Business Profile. For each location we compared the business name, the type of business, the distance between the two addresses, and the street number. Locations that matched are GMB-verified listings. Locations that did not match were held back for review, and listings Google shows as closed drop out. The rent-to-own stores with a tire counter are listed from their open store locations.

A match confirms the store is where it says it is. It does not rate the store or its terms. See how VRTO collects and checks its data for the full method.

What rent-to-own tires means

Rent-to-own tires are a lease. The shop mounts a set of tires or wheels on your car, you pay weekly or monthly, and you own the set when the payments are done. Most tire agreements run 6 to 12 months. Most stores do not require a traditional credit check, and you can usually return the set and stop paying.

You pay more than the cash price if you make every payment. That is the cost of taking the tires now without credit. The agreement states the Total cost before you sign, so compare that figure across stores. Our guide to how rent-to-own tires work walks through the steps and the cost.

What to ask a tire shop before you sign

Ask every shop the same questions, and get the answers in writing:

  • The full cost. What is each payment, how many payments are there, and what is the Total cost?
  • Mounting and balancing. Most shops include mounting, balancing, valve stems, and disposal of the old tires. Check that the agreement says so.
  • Road hazard coverage. Some agreements cover damage from potholes, nails, or road debris. Ask whether yours does and what it costs.
  • Early purchase. What does it cost to buy the set out early, and how long do you have to do it?

Our guide on early payoff, wear, and cancellation covers the last two questions in more detail.

What comes next

The tires and wheels directory grows as new shops pass the Google match, the same way the shed directory has since July. If you run a tire shop that offers rent-to-own and you do not see it listed, you can ask to be listed. Listing on VRTO is free.

Where these numbers come from

Any figure in this article is a general example, not a quote. Every store sets its own payment and its own number of payments, so the numbers that count are the ones your store puts in writing. Ask for the payment, how many payments there are, and the total before you sign.

Store counts are as of the date in the post and change as stores open, close and pass checks. See how we collect and verify data, or ask any store for its exact terms before you sign.
