Rent-A-Center

I was gonna rent a laptop from them and I saw one online that looks pretty good. It was pre-released and everything I was fine with the weekly price. Everything seemed fine so I decided to reserve it since I was approved for it then I called the store that had the laptop that I wanted. The first person I spoke to seemed nice enough and he was trying to explain to me what I needed to prove my identity. Then someone else came on the line who continuously called me Sweetheart like she knew me And then told me that and they needed an additional payment that was not stated anywhere on the website. I’ve used Rent-A-Center before just any different states and I’ve never heard any thing about having to pay $100 upfront when it was a special for $10 started your agreement. After that, they told me they couldn’t even help me because I was outside of their service area, even though I was going to pick up the item without them having to deliver it. So then they directed me to another store so that I could talk to them about getting verified so I can go pick up my item at the first store. I called the other store. They told me what I needed to verify my item and they didn’t say anything about an additional payment at first, so I figured this might be a store to store policy but she said I’m gonna send you this information you need and then you can make your additional payment. She said it as if I was supposed to know that you wanted 90 more dollars I asked her why I had to make an additional payment when the deal was $10 started your agreement. She said it was for all electronics appliances and furniture that you have to make an additional payment even though by her admission it was not stated on the website she said that’s why you had to call the store so that they could tell you because they were not advertising it on the website. Mind you the entire reason I wanted this is so that I didn’t have to pay out-of-pocket a lot in order to get a laptop if I wanted to pay $100 to start renting a laptop I would’ve just went and bought one off the shelf.

My husband bought me a Christmas gift from them and they came to deliver it 5 hours late and then would not deliver the items because my dogs were outside. That I can understand but they were not barking or anything they were in their own little worlds, they are puppies. But then the truck smelled of weed bad. I would not want that furniture in my house smelling that awful. I will never get anything from these people ever again

Horrible service and staff. My entire situation was a joke to them. Not only did they escalate my issue to the Director. Not was resolved. I tired to make a payment by store, store said couldn’t expect. Made payment by cash app card, the money left my card but they don’t see it in the system were I paid it. This issue continued a month unresolved. I asked the store manager to call me, nothing! They can call me to say payment due but can never tell me where my money went. The issue never got resolved. Before giving them another dime I told them to come get it. Very ghetto. The entire staff and store.

"Carlos & Demetrius"... "WoW !!!. What can I say, these 2 young men are absolutely amazing. They both went far beyond anything I've seen. They tried everything possible to get my washer and dryer delivered, they even left and came back to try and make the sell. But they could not get the dryer into my laundry room. I'm just so amazed at how they stayed focused and professional. "They took pictures to show they tried everything; but the designs of these new washers & dryers are absolutely ridiculous". These 2 young men deserve to be greatly acknowledged and appreciated. They truly Gave their absolute all to try and seal the deal. But, through it all the items didn't fit. But, they were friendly, professional, hardworking and focused. My husband Carl & I definitely appreciate their hard work "Job well done". They deserve a raise. Great team work. "Great worker's are so hard to find". I'm telling everyone to come to this location. 5-star⭐ customer service at its best. Simply excellent. Hopefully the manager can find me a small stackable (" washer & dryer Set")...

The center point location is amazing. I love how they work with you and understand how life can get in the way. I’m sure I’ve cried on more than one occasions for their help. They do their job and are understanding in the process. I can’t speak for all locations. The location here in Birmingham Alabama on center point parkway, I love y’all! They’re like family.
