What customers are saying

Recent reviews from rent-to-own stores in Lakewood.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great experience all around! I worked with Tony before at the 6th Ave location and had the opportunity to work with him again at the Lakewood store — and just like last time, everything was smooth, fast, and stress-free. He’s always nice, professional, and easy to work with. I honestly prefer Buddy’s over other places because of the high-quality furniture and the great customer service. Delivery was handled by Russell and Caleb, and they were amazing. They arrived right on time, introduced themselves, were very polite, and got everything into my apartment with no issues — even with my small space. I felt bad that I couldn’t tip them, so I’m leaving this great review instead. They were awesome and got the job done perfectly! Highly recommend Buddy’s and this whole team. 💯

Washington law

What Washington law gives you before you sign

Washington regulates rent-to-own under Washington Lease-Purchase Agreement Act, and the rules are the same at every store in the state. Before you sign, the store has to put the cash price, the total cost to own the item, and the number of payments in front of you, so the real number is never buried in the fine print. Rent-to-own is a lease and not a loan, so there is no interest rate, and returning the item does not go on your credit.

This is a plain summary, not legal advice. Read your own agreement and confirm the terms with the store.

Washington Lease-Purchase Agreement Act Wash. Rev. Code §§ 63.19.010 to 63.19.903
Disclosure requirements Must disclose total payments, total cost, cash price, whether property is new or used, early purchase option, reinstatement rights, and any...
Payment cap protections Total cost of the rental-purchase agreement may not exceed 2.0 times the cash price of the property (200% cap).
