Inside Rent-A-Center

What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Launched in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, it was the first national chain to scale the rent-to-own model, building standardized showrooms stocked with new, name-brand merchandise. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

Do NOT rent from the Rent-A-Center on Warwick Boulevard. The customer service rep was extremely rude and kept calling me about a payment I was already planning to make the same day. When I hung up to avoid arguing, they sent me a threatening text saying they would pick up my merchandise and cancel my account. The way customers are spoken to here is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Corporate seriously needs to step in because this behavior is out of line.

Rude manager, poor communication, and zero accountability I rarely leave one star reviews, but the customer service at this Rent-A-Center location has been extremely disappointing and continues to be unprofessional. To be clear, our account is currently UP TO DATE, and I even paid this week’s payment two days early. We have a solid payment history and have consistently handled our account responsibly. Before making that early payment, I called the store simply to give a courtesy notice that my check was delayed and I might be two days late. Instead of professionalism, the manager responded with a rude, nasty, and dismissive attitude over a simple heads-up. What was even more concerning is that the same manager was also rude to the corporate customer service representative who was assisting us. Because of his conduct, BOTH the corporate rep and I filed complaints. Unfortunately, his attitude has not improved and he continues to be unprofessional in his interactions. Separately, when we FIRST signed our agreement, we were told our furniture would be delivered. My household even came back early from vacation to be present. At the last minute, delivery was delayed for two additional days due to “fees” that were never clearly disclosed to us upfront and that we were told about during the first week of payment. The lack of transparency was extremely frustrating. When I asked to speak with the manager about the situation, he was dismissive and aggressive, showing very little empathy for the inconvenience caused. The interaction became so disrespectful that I was pushed completely out of character due to the way we were being spoken to. Rent-A-Center corporate seriously needs to review the management at this location. Customers who communicate and pay their bills — especially early — deserve professionalism, transparency, and basic respect.

I really think its shitty for a truck to come to my house to collect in item and I didn't even get a chance to pay for the item yet. Driver arrived at my door at 1100. I also think its crazy to have the person in the office to call the day before asking for a payment and its not due yet. Yall need to turn that down a little. This is coming from a person who has paid serval items off before in the Hampton store. I WILL NOT be doing business with you all again.

The 10 dollar deal means nothing you're still gonna pay even tho the banner is misleading Store won't cancel even if you asked probably going to take your next payment anyway from your card so bad that the online chat knows it's a scam
