What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

This company provides awful service. After I paid my bill, two workers showed up at my door 30 minutes later, harassing and intimidating me over a supposed $49 “later payment,” which was supposedly the second half of my bill. As I continued to exchange text as to why my payment amount is constantly changing. Shockingly, those same workers continued to wait outside for another 20 minutes. The entire experience was unprofessional, aggressive, and unacceptable. Instead of clear communication, I was treated with intimidation. Customers deserve honesty and respect, not harassment.

Store Manager Frank Dalykas was wonderful! I found him via a Facebook post and he helped me through buying a set outright (which I didn’t realize RAC did). Super helpful! Thanks Frank.

Quick and efficient. However, as soon as one payment is missing they harass you every single day. They call non stop even if your at work and sometimes multiple times a day. Then if you don't answer or call back they show up at your house at a ridiculous hour. First and last time using this company. I just posted this not too long ago and I updated my card on my online account so payment should have gone through. I am now still being harassed. 10 of 14 voice-mails are from them.

We stopped in about 45 minutes before they close knowing it would be cutting it close to get a new washer and dryer. Well the guy at the desk was not very helpful at all. We knew exactly what we were going to purchase, and had the money ready for it. Well he decided it was enough for the day, so gave us this lame excuse that the systems shut down at exactly closing time (which I highly doubt, having worked in similar jobs) So he would not be able to put our order in until the morning. He did advise we could fill out the paperwork, and come back tomorrow. Now I know this tactic, as long as his name is on the paperwork he will get the commission for it, even if he doesn't close the deal. Well we decided not to do business with him and went home and ordered a brand new washer and dryer from one of their competitors. Lesson to be learned in this story is don't waste someones time thinking you'll get an easy commission.

If I could rate 0, I would. They are nice at first, but once you mess up, they don't let you forget. I am at the point where i wont even speak to the store manager James, and his assistant Frank used to deal with me, but he dropped me when I struggled a few weeks. Do yourself a favor, use Craigslist or Facebook. This is such a sham.
