This was the second time my family has ordered from Hinton Buildings- I ordered a 24x30 steel building from Hinton, (they are a dealer but do not manufacture the buildings), and I will say, they were very responsive, polite, and very flexible to suit my needs. I needed a different type garage door, and they were happy to delete the door and allow me to purchase one elsewhere, rather than insisting on selling me one or anything like that. I'm not as happy with the manufacturer that they worked with, Steel Buildings and Structures, as it took them about 3 months to schedule install of the building (I scheduled in January so in all fairness that's kind of understandable) but also their communication wasn't the best. The building itself is very nice overall and good quality, the installers were pretty good about keeping their schedule and working on my imperfect install site, there were a couple small things I was disappointed with but I'm not going to be nitpicky because that's life. Like I said though, the building is super nice and I'm really happy with it! And the price seemed very reasonable- 16 grand including insulation, which is a major job to add to these buildings! (Note that they do not pour concrete. I hired a company out of Smithfield called Concrete Experts Company and they did a terrific job for a pretty good price. (I'm in Central NC.) -Frank Hollowell

Great family owned local business and they’re great to work with. Very knowledgeable. Best selection of sheds, barns, and metal buildings. Prices are the lowest around. I highly recommend Hinton Buildings.

9-27-25 We purchased our 10x12 shed from Hinton in June of 2024. So our ownership of the shed has been for over a year per the date above. We are happy with it and were able to clear our garage of lots of stuff! I shopped around in the surrounding area from Smithfield to Kinston and ultimately chose Hinton due to selection and an excellent price. We found dealing with Jamie very easy. She was knowledgeable and helped us get our shed in a timely manner. The crew from Stalnaker who delivered the shed was also awesome (reviewed them already) and they capped our excellent experience.

Would have given a good review based on sale with Jaime... but Hinton washed their hands after we purchased this metal 24x36 ft building. The delivery, installation, and materials were handled by NC Carports and Garages out of Pilot Moutain, NC which was a terrible experience! They did a shotty installation, drank beer on the job, then left all their trash and leftover materials behind forcing us to have to discard. The building failed the final county inspection because the workers failed to install critical support brackets! Then, due to rain the day after installation, water leaked under the walls and the company told us that WE had to seal between the concrete floor and walls! We called Hinton and they told us the concrete flooring must be too big. BUT, WE used one of their recommended concrete installers who used the exact measurements provided by Hinton in the contract. After over 2 months of phone calls and messages to the installers, they finally came out and replaced some siding and insulation and still, TRIED to leave garbage that we had to INSIST they take with them!! Hinton shows no interest in witnessing what they sell once it is installed on the buyers land but has no problem advertising the buildings they sell on their lot and collecting their fees up front. As long as Hinton continues to operate in this manner, we will not recommend Hinton to anyone when we are asked who we purchased this building from! (We have already been asked!)
