On 11/15/2025, an employee, at the Rent-A-Center Walzem location repeatedly pressured me to let a driver into my home, even after I said I was not comfortable while my husband was away. He also asked personal questions about my children, which was completely inappropriate. The driver, Zach, was respectful and followed my boundaries. I plan to return the equipment once my husband is home. This behavior was unprofessional, invasive, and made me feel unsafe. Rent-A-Center needs to ensure employees respect customers’ privacy and boundaries.
Sonia and her team always go above and beyond for me. That is why I will only do business at that location. They treat me like I am a valued customer and not another customer number. Thank you all for what you do for me and my family.
Caution!!!!!!!! These people are a rip off and will keep your money if someone else in your household has an outstanding account…. even if you’re not the customer. I got approved for merchandise and the next day made a 2 week payment for delivery. First, I never got my merchandise after 3 days of making this payment because there was always an excuse why they couldn’t deliver. Then Sonia Guillen (Manager) calls me because she noticed another resident in my home had an overdue account. It didn’t bother me that they couldn’t do business with me, the problem was once I arrived in person for my refund, I never got It after the manager told me she would give it to me….After all I never got their merchandise, my application should have been destroyed the minute she decided she did not want to do business with me, and bottom line is I’m not a customer of Rent-a-Center moving forward….So in this respect I don’t owe these people nothing!!!! So why are you trying to pocket the payment? And for what reason? Sonia was insisted that I was on the other persons account and because that account was over due she wasn’t going to give me a refund, but yet couldn’t provide proof. I absolutely called the police and even though they could not do much after they intervened, I asked them for a document that shows proof in the state of Texas, under what law, policy, article or other, gives a company the rights to keep someone else’s money because someone you live with has an account with them as well regardless if its overdue or not. Instead of providing me with the following information as requested….the manager provides the officer with a Contract/agreement that has all my information on it as if I am a customer and have an active account with them, plus the merchandise I was supposed to get delivered and never got, and a break down of the price amounts, but yet I am not a customer there and your excuse to keep my money was supposed to be because someone else on my lease has an outstanding account, but what it fails to state is the right they have to keep my funds…See what I’m saying? Trust…there is a law for this kind of theft so I’m putting the word out…DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!! If it was so easy for them to do this to me, they are definitely doing to other people. You need to file a law suit when this happens.
I now own 4 items and am currently paying on 2 others from the Walzem location. I ordered a washer/dryer combo online on Thursday and selected delivery for Monday 3pm-6pm. After no communication I decided to call the store. I was informed that he meant to call me earlier because my online order was pulled from another store but he was too busy to call. So after going round and round and complaining that he doesn't understand why the online orders happen that way he told me he still has to call and verify the merchandise is in good condition and go pick it up and set up a new delivery day. I am of course frustrated because we waited for delivery and missed an appt. So I asked him what am I supposed to do at this point and the line went dead. Assuming he hung up on me but not accusing. I have made a payment on this so I am expecting some type of credit and for someone to communicate with me better than they have in the past. But if it's the day my payment is due I will get 5 calls throughout the day which is on a Saturday so I am finding it a little hard to believe that they were too busy to call me on a Monday. I have been with this store for a few years now so I'm trying to understand why I am being treated so poorly.
Jeffrey was super communicative about every singe detail. He kept me updated though out the process and was so friendly!! The delivery people were so patient and smart! They got my couch into my small apartment and I am so grateful!
