Rent-A-Center

I had a very disappointing experience with Rent-A-Center. Last week, I visited the store, put money down on a couch and loveseat, completed all of the required paperwork, set up automatic payments, and scheduled my delivery for today. At no point was I told there were any issues with my application. On the day of my scheduled delivery, I received three phone calls requesting additional information. During the third call, I asked if my furniture was still going to be delivered, and I was told the representative needed to speak with her manager. After waiting over an hour without a callback, despite my delivery window being between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., I contacted the store again. The manager informed me that my furniture would not be delivered because I could not be “verified.” When I asked for more information, I was simply told that they were “not allowed to say.” This was extremely frustrating, especially because I had already discarded my old furniture the night before in preparation for the scheduled delivery. While I was able to receive a full refund of my deposit, this situation could have been avoided if the verification issue had been addressed before my delivery date instead of at the last minute. I want to emphasize that the employee who initially assisted me was in training, so I do not place blame on her. My concern is with management and the overall communication process. Customers should not complete the entire approval process, schedule a delivery, and only be informed on the day of delivery that they will not be receiving their furniture without any clear explanation. Fortunately, I went to Aaron’s immediately afterward and had a completely different experience. I was approved for a sectional and a washer for about the same monthly payment I would have made at Rent-A-Center yet I got a sectional and a washer , and both are scheduled for delivery the very next day. Based on my experience, I would recommend Aaron’s over Rent-A-Center. I hope Rent-A-Center reviews its verification and communication process so future customers do not have to experience the same inconvenience.

Absolutely great experience helped me out on Black Friday when my son’s tablet wouldn’t charge. Mya and the other associate that worked there I should’ve got her name as well was so helpful and friendly. Found out it was just the cord and they hooked me up with replacement one. Such great service every time I’ve called or had to go in highly recommend the team there :)

Went in to look at furniture a few times before they told me they do not do delivery on cash purchases until I was literally paying for the furniture. Set was supposed to be 800$, I guess tax is over 400$ because I paid 1200$. Then the day OF delivery they call me 2 hours before and say their moving delivery to next week lol. Process has not been smooth at all, wishing I went to Aaron’s instead.

They lie and are deceitful they promise you something then go back on it they are nasty and rude and did not care to help me at all I will not do business with them AGAIN go to Aaron’s they are so much better and understanding and will work with you and it’s a better company

Furthermore, I would like to add, the [same as cash] deals are great. Enables customers to purchase unaffordable items in an affordable manner with little to no interest.
