Twice now I have had different people on a post card with my address. Last week they tried to deliver a $2000 audio system in someone else’s name. My credit has been run which I don’t know how. No credit taken out thank god. When I called the store I was put on hold for 10 minutes then very short with me when I explained why I was calling and was them put back on hold for another 20 minutes. Do not trust them they are scammers and credit thieves . Just for the record I have never walked into one in my life.
I’m writing on behalf of my daughter who had to deal with this mess. She got approved for $2000, reached out to the store about a bedroom set, and Marcus said he’d help her out even though it was close to closing time. He mentioned the set wasn’t in their store but promised to check other locations. Cool. After that? Crickets. She called multiple times, Marcus was never available. One new guy didn’t know anything and Joel was just as unhelpful. My daughter finally said, “You know what, just cancel everything, I’ll go elsewhere.” Joel insisted he’d reach out to Marcus and follow up but never did. She ended up going somewhere else, got her order placed and delivered within days.
I wrote a review but took it down but I really feel that customers should be aware of the treatment they could be facing!!! I have been a customer for over 3 years and purchased $1000.'s of dollars there purchasing big items. My bill for ANOTHER product I began purchasing for a Nintendo Switch (for my grandson) I was "4" days late after explaining my problem to Marcus and JOELL with making the payment ($98 which is ridiculous!!!) and asked for a few more days. PAYMENT WAS DUE NOV 3RD AND ON THE 7TH "JOELL" CAME AND TOLD ME HE HAD TO TAKE IT BACK!!! "4" DAYS LATE???!!! I WILL "NEVER" IN MY LIFE STEP FOOT INTO THAT STORE AGAIN!!! BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER BY "NEVER" MISSING ONE SINGLE PAYMENT ON "ANY" OF MY PURCHASES GOT ME NOWHERE. MARCUS OFFERED TO BRING IT BACK AND WORK OUT SOME KIND OF DEAL. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! "JOELL" SERIOUSLY SHOULD NEVER HAVE TAKEN IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!!! I THOUGHT I HAD A GREAT RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM!!! I WOULD SERIOUSLY AVOID DOING ANY BUSINESS WITH JOELL AT ALL!!! I ONLY NEEDED A FEW MORE DAYS TO MAKE SOME KIND OF PAYMENT!!! SHAME ON YOU JOELL!!! AND NO I "DID NOT" ACCEPT THE NINTENDO SWITCH BACK!!!
I had posted a few weeks ago about the problems I was having with Rent A Center about my washer but I would like to come on here an say that Marcus (the store manager) made the corrections necessary to give me a new washer. And I also ended up starting a new agreement on a new mattress as well. So this whole experience turned out with a good result it took a few weeks to get everything resolved but it’s done and I’m appreciative. I have been with this location since 2023 and we may still bump heads but Marcus really does treat me like family. Just wanted to come on here and give an update regarding my last post.
I was debating on coming on here to leave a review because the service started off very good and Marcus a Joel was good people but I started feeling like my service wasn’t appreciated. I got a washer & dryer an had them for about few months until my dryer went out they came an gave me a replacement until it got fixed but just ended up letting me keep the replacement since it was the same exact dryer. Then I paid off the dryer an washer with like $145 dollars left after paying over a thousand dollars. Then I got a Nintendo switch that I was paying on but really honestly wasn’t using it so I had them pick it up but before that my washer started acting up would make sounds an not properly wash our clothes. I called an Marcus gave me a date that they would come out to fix washer and lied to me about the date no one ever came so when I called for Nintendo switch to be picked up they never mentioned the washer again. After spending my hard earned money on this washer now I’m stuck with a washer that works when it wants too. Another reason why I wouldn’t come back to this rent a center is that they call you days before your payment is do worse then a bill collector an they tell you one thing an it never happens. I just regret giving my money to a company who doesn’t appreciate they clients or customers. But yet their at my neighbor house on a regular with no problems.
