I would have gave a 5 star review but I'm not happy with rent a center now. I have always made on time payments even paid off early however I recently received a deep freezer that was 600.00 (quoted in store) I paid 100.00, I already made 400 in payments and had an early pay off option of 190.00 well I went to pay said 190 n they told me it wasn't available and said I'd have to pay an extra almost 400. That's 400 more then said price so yes it's fair to say don't trust rent a center. Also the lady said the manager would call me n he never did.

In May 2024, I faced harassment from Rent-A-Center at 1635 South Prairie Ave, Pueblo, CO, even though I am not the account holder; my husband is. While we’ve struggled financially this year, I was consistently paying $160 every two weeks. Despite being just a week behind in May, Rent-A-Center’s tactics became aggressive. The first incident involved an employee banging loudly on my door, making the walls shake. When I spoke through the door, he responded loudly and rudely, embarrassing me in front of neighbors. I immediately called the store to explain, and they confirmed we were behind but said collections would continue. Due to poor internal communication, agreements on payment dates were often disregarded, leading to continual harassment. Rent-A-Center’s collection practices escalated that month. Despite my request to avoid home visits due to PTSD from prior law enforcement work, another employee aggressively banged on my doors and windows. I called the store, explaining that my husband would pay on payday, yet the harassment continued, causing further stress. Later, my husband and I spoke with Brandon at the store. My husband reiterated that he would pay on payday, explaining that he works a high-risk job, often 275 feet in the air, and cannot always answer calls. He requested they stop visiting our home as I am alone during the day. However, Reggie, another employee, stated that they would continue coming as long as we had Rent-A-Center’s merchandise. After a heated exchange with Reggie, an agreement was reached that they would only contact my husband and not me. However, the harassment persisted. I filed a report with Rent-A-Center customer service (Report #2187643) after explaining our experience to Oscar. Despite requesting to speak with the district manager, I received no response. We continued payments but were six days late in October. On Friday, October 25, 2024, I received a call from another rude Rent-A-Center representative who claimed he was outside my house. I informed him I was across the street at a pawn shop paying bills. Despite my explanation, the representative threatened to “camp out” at my door until I returned. The shop owner, Chris, overheard and recorded this visit on his security cameras. I called Reggie again, who denied our prior agreement and insisted they would continue visits. Although they already had my husband’s number on file, I continued to receive calls whenever my husband couldn’t answer. I filed another report with customer service (Report #218779) and spoke to Andy, but I doubt there will be follow-up. I finally filed a harassment report with the Pueblo Police Department and spoke to Officer King, who confirmed that future visits would be treated as trespassing and advised me to call the police if needed. She also instructed Rent-A-Center to stop calling me. This complaint is being submitted to Rent-A-Center, Google Reviews, the Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General’s office. The repeated home visits, disruptive collection calls, and unprofessional conduct from Rent-A-Center are unacceptable.

Wanted to do monthly payments so they wouldn’t come to my door fifty times a week or call when I’m in a room with a hospice patient was told I could not and to just keep my weekly payments and have them come pound on my door when no one’s home horrible service, the bank don’t come looking for the $40,000 I owe them for a 2023 Kia, but here comes Rent A Center for $33!!! Lol And if you don’t do what they want they will run your credit a thousand times!!! 0 out of 100 stars !!!
Been a customer for awhile, never had a problem and ive always made my payments. Recently had a desktop computer ordered. Was told I would have it within 2 days ended up waiting over a week. OK no big deal really. I go into the store today and I see my computer sitting on the counter. Employees acted real shady from the start. The one helping me went into the back and came back with a screen that definitely wasn't what I ordered. It looks like she just went and grabbed one of their personal work screens. They also took the mouse and swapped it with one of their work mouses and I also didn't receive the headphones. I asked them if the new screen that I originally thought I was taking with me was the one they were supposed to give me, they say no that's the managers and they were told not to sell it. On top of all this they didnt even give me the correct cords. Extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional experience from the time I walked through the doors. Just got home and the screen they gave me is actually a small TV and doesn't even work.

This place is ridiculous. They were refusing to take a payment over the phone for me but when my cousin called they said they would make one for her. They also lied to her and said they couldn't take my payment because our card was declined except I never gave them my card number so it could not have been declined. When I called back and asked to speak to a manager, they somehow conveniently were able to take my payment. Before this last week I would have left an amazing review. Now I know they are a bunch of liars who don't care about customer service. Never buying another thing from these guys again.
