What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Refused to help us in purchasing furniture said we had to go online when every other rent a center in the past we have used before aided us in purchasing.

Was upset that I was turned away to create an account online . I was willing to pick up the furniture myself and all they had to do was enter my info. and take payment. Went to another location they helped me with no problem.

This place treats their customers and employees like trash. We had a sectional delivered to our 2nd floor apartment yesterday and only sent one employee to do everything. The employee that they sent was great and nice, however he should not have been alone. The box that the couch came in was clearly labeled “team lift”. This raised a big concern to me and my wife who were worried that they are making their employees do this themselves against company policy. My wife called the store to express this concern and the assistant manager who answered immediately had an attitude to her and became defensive while my wife was calm and only was expressing concern for their employees. He refused to give her his name, the manager’s name, or any information. After we called corporate I had received a call from the manager who gave me a similar attitude. He said that “it is policy for their employees to left up to 200 pounds up stairs by themselves” I asked to be shown where this is in a corporate issued handbook and I was just told “we ask employees to be able to left up to 200 pounds by themselves and that the person who did our delivery knows what they are doing and that “would like to work for the company” My wife then called the district manager who was very unprofessional and childish. He said my wife is not an employee and glad that she is not and does not have to tell her what the safety procedures are. We are escalating this to regional management. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences me or my wife had ever had. They had done nothing but disrespect my wife, and treated us like we are stupid for caring about their employees safety.

The management at this location is abysmal. Albert, the assistant manager, sends single employees to bring entire sectionals up 2 stories. These boxes are clearly labeled "Team Lift". As a customer, I think it is disgusting to risk an employees health and safety. When I called to inquire about this issue, Albert immediately got defensive and made smart remarks such as "Well, you got your delivery, didn't you?" When I asked for his name and number for the manager, he got smart again and said my name wasn't on the account. Shocker, I am the account holders wife. He literally just didn't want to be held responsible for his poor judgement and doesn't care about his employees OR customers. I have never had such a horrible experience with an assistant manager before. Perhaps Albert could get some classes to help him regulate his big feelings, because he absolutely does not know how to speak to a customer. I have reached out to the Manager of the store as well as escalated this matter to the district manager. I will update my review in 48 hours. Albert has no business being in the position he is in and had no regard for employee safety or his customers. Update: Spoke to George Wright (DM). He is refusing to share company policies on safety measures. As a paying customer, I have a right to know that measures are taken so that injuries do not take place in or around my home. He also refused to give me contact info for his higher up, because he is on a power trip. This location and DM are absolutely the worst people I have ever dealt with. They can't keep their stories straight (Saying employees have a choice to deny single manned deliveries, and then saying they have to do their job.) In all of this nobody has reached out to the employee to get his feedback on the deliveries being unsafe. I will never deal with RAC or George's attitude problem ever again. I have every right to demand that my items are received in a matter that is safe for the person delivering it. Stay far away from Albert, Jonathan, and the absolute most unprofessional district manager (George Wright) that I have ever spoken with. He would not even let me air my concerns without speaking over me. I will be reaching out to a higher up individual until this matter is taken care of. All these employees need to learn how to treat their customers, but all they can do is have a fit and hang up. Do better. UPDATE 2 I have spoken with and escalated this case to the regional manager. Lady I spoke with was absolutely in agreement that these employees are in the wrong- on policy, and customer service. I will update after regional manager calls me.
