08/01/2025 District Manager Rent-A-Center Brownsville,Tx Store address :5850 Ruben Torres Blvd A5 Brownsville Tx 77526 Subject: Fraudulent Activity – Forged Signature and Undelivered Item Dear District Manager, I am writing to formally report and dispute a serious issue involving your Rent-A-Center location at 5850 Ruben Torres Blvd A5 Brownsville Tx 77526. On August 1 2025 I was informed that an item had been delivered to me and that I had signed for it on the date of 07/29/25. However, I have not received this item at any time, nor did I sign any documentation confirming delivery. Upon reviewing the paperwork, I discovered that my signature has been forged. This is not only unethical but potentially criminal. I request that your office immediately: 1. Launch an internal investigation into this matter. 2. Provide all documents you claim were signed by me, including delivery confirmations and contracts. 3. Correct your records to reflect that I did not receive this item and that the signature is not mine. 4. Cease any further billing or collection actions related to this disputed item. If this matter is not resolved promptly and fairly, I will have no choice but to escalate this complaint by contacting the Better Business Bureau, State Attorney General’s Office, and possibly pursue legal action for fraud and identity misuse. I expect a response to this letter that was also faxed, emailed to the store email and sent to the corporate mailing address Sincerely, Pamela Rodriguez Update : Please be informed that I have contacted the office and your manager ben was very unprofessional. He was aware of this fraud and confirmed via telephone about this ... I also was given the 800 number but they advised me they cant verify my identity because your staff changed my number and address for them to be able to identify my information. Your entire office at that location is corrupt.
Don't recommend purchasing. They Fraudulently sign for individuals and then try to cheat them out of money. I was owed for items that were never delivered and I received a email having my signature that I supposedly made. The items were never delivered to my address after various attempts of me leaving work to wait for the delivery. They changed my address and number on my account so that when I call customer service I cant be verified. Blanca lerma is apparently the individual who signed my signature. Spoke to manager Ben and I could immediately tell his voice changed once I began speaking about reaching out to a district manager and offered for me to go into the store. I called the customer service number and filed a complaint. This is ridiculous. Highly recommend looking over your emails and texts because they are can change information .
Payment due date was 11/1/24. I called and said I would have the payment next pay period. The associate said that it was ok, and asked for amount due on my next pay day. 3 business days later rent a center shows up at home. Did not know why I thought there was a mistake. I call Rent A Center. Manager super rude and threatens to reposess the furniture. I never knew companies operated this way. I was in shock. Very very sad business practices.
I have been a customer for 8 plus years, new employees come and go, but I have always received great customer service. The only employee that has been there since I started going to rent a center is John he as his coworkers are very kind, helpful, and are always there to assist you in anyway possible. Keep up the great work, and thank you 👍
I go into the store very often and every time I go there super friendly and very helpful
