What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

How are places like this still in business, this is no different from the payday loan places, and very disrespectful until you get out of character about something pity
In reaponse to the Digital Care Team - you clearly missed that I already called the 800 number. Am I supposed to call again, wait on hold another 10 minutes before I reach someone and then tell them what happened again? I'm sure if you can look through all od the complaints from 11/6/25, you can find the situation that is exactly what I said yesterday 11/6/25. If I could rate this as zero stars, I would! The store Manager, Wayne, thinks he does no wrong even when he did! He decided to take it upon himself to add something to my account WITHOUT my authorization or signature! They never contacted us about this until we got a text stating that we had a delivery scheduled! I called as soon as we received this message and was told (by someone who wasn't Wayne) that they could not take this off of our account, only reschedul the delivery. That only Wayne could do that. I went in and spoke with Wayne the very next morning, since he wasn't in the store when I called, and he said "we'll I GUESS I shouldn't have done that". Of course you shouldn't have tried to charge someone for something that they DID NOT AUTHORIZE. How does that even happen?! He also did not even apologize until I got loud and angry. His words were "I cannot do anything else. I've already apologized and said I'm sorry" but he didn't. So he doesn't even hear himself when he is speaking to customers! Also, trying to tell me that it's fine and not as bad as I'm making it out to be, doesn't help. Messing with someone's money and payments is a HUGE deal. He needs to take that into consideration. I then reached out to their 800 number - was told this was corporate by Wayne.. waited on hold for over 10 minutes before I even reached someone. They did take my complaint and said they would escalate it to the appropriate department. We will see how that goes. Very very VERY unhappy with this store!
I have had a washer and dryer for over a year and they need cleaned but they have worked very well for the year. Customer Service at my location is always on point and they assist everyone! That’s always a bonus for me.
This place has the worst communication skills I’ve ever seen. I have never even been to this place or heard of them until they’ve started harassing us and showing up at our house over someone else’s past due payment. The first time they showed up we told them “hey they don’t live here and haven’t for over a year”. Today was the SIXTH time they’ve showed up knocking on every door we have until we answered again and told them the SAME thing we’ve told them 5 times now. How hard is it to communicate to a manager this isn’t their address anymore. They were literally here two days ago and we told them, yet there they are 48 hours later saying the same thing, I’ve seen better communication from 5 years olds. At this point it’s harassment. Annoying and unprofessional. Fix your communication skills and stop harassing people who have never heard of your awful company. -10 stars.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I had the most horrible service from the store manager, Clyde. I told him specifically to run my card for my past amount. My account was 5 days past due. I get a text message from my bank and Clyde decided to run my card for a payment that wasn't even due until Saturday. I called the store right back and that's when the ugly side came out. He informed me I should have told him the specific amount I wanted my card ran for. I have been having an account with them for maybe 8 months and have never had this problem. He told me he could refund me my money but it could take 7 to 10 business days. I asked could I speak to the manager and that was when I was informed he was the manager of 10 years. Then he proceeded to go into detail that he has never been late paying his bills and that he has had 2 houses and several cars and insinuated me paying my account late was the price I had to pay for him running my card for whatever amount he wanted too. It took me 10 minutes to get the phone number to the Lebanon store, I'm assuming that's the person over him. Didn't get much help talking to that person because I waited on hold for 15 minutes. I have never had a person that calls their self running a store speak to me like I'm their child. In my opinion he talked like just because you are renting furniture that he could run your payment on your card for whatever he felt. But the other guy said he might be having a bad day. Either way I would stay clear from this particular store. If the person running it has that kind of attitude and work ethic then it speaks volume as to what else is really going on. I read some of the other reviews and I'm not the only one this has happened too. I already filed a complaint with the corporate office. I don't care if my payment was a few days late but that doesn't give anyone the right to run my card for an amount I didn't authorize and then to get talked to like I'm a toddler. Take hees and read the reviews before shopping with this store.
