Inside Rent-A-Center

What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Launched in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, it was the first national chain to scale the rent-to-own model, building standardized showrooms stocked with new, name-brand merchandise. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

Disturbingly nasty people. The girl on the phone who sounded like African American was extremely extremely unpleasant to talk with. I spoke to her for 5 minutes and she kept laughing at my matter and making me feel stupid for calling. I called because I ordered a ps5 and apparently it was cancelled automatically. This was my very first time dealing with rent a center. NEVER AGAIN. This girl needs to be fired immediately she’s laughing at customers for making a purchase with them over the phone. I’m gonna call again and record it and send it to corporate.

Every single employee who has ever worked here in my time renting from them has been accommodating and wonderful. My most recent experience with Mia on the phone was a very pleasant one she fixed what I needed done and helped me in more ways than one. She was very patient and easy to talk to. All the employees here deserve a raise but a true thank you to Mia! She's awesome

Should be no stars, I entered the store at the end of the work day my clothes were all ripped and worn out. Maybe I did look a homeless person, as I was browsing the store and looking around in electronics I had an employee come up to me and told me I had to leave. Holding my credit card and my debit card and a pocket full of cash I left. As I was looking at one TV she said that was already rented how can it be rented if I'm looking right at it so I left. Superior very bad service at Wharton Street Pittsburgh PA 15203

I’m extremely disappointed with how I was treated by Rent-A-Center. Despite being told I was a “valued customer” and having a solid history — I’ve always paid off everything I’ve ever rented — my recent experience said otherwise. I called three days in a row trying to get help with merchandise, and each time I was left on hold. Not once, not twice — but three separate times. No follow-up, no resolution, just repeated frustration. I finally gave up and went to Errands and Errands, and they took care of my needs without any hassle. Customer service should mean something — especially for loyal customers. Unfortunately, Rent-A-Center failed to show me that my business actually mattered
