What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

I find that most of the staff are grumpy and you dont ever see a smile. They can also be rude. I do use them and once my item is paid off I will never go through them again.
Well they talked my husband into buying a television told him the that the first payment was due the 20th and called week before it was due and told me it was gonna be in default. I have bought many items and considered myself a good customer but the bad customer service, rude tone on the phone, and uncaring attitude of the Young delivery drivers, my son went to pay the bill and they charged him 3 extra dollars besides the item and insurance. isnt worth the hassle. I won't be getting anything else from them. Where did Bob go , we loved him.
very pleased with ease & delivery BUT just today 8/23 i was knocked on the door for immediate payment, by the fact that i wasnt informed of the renewal payment due date(on website/SMS/paper/email), im in the blue rush now to return to the store for a simple communication mistake
I've been with them for over 8 years and in my 8 years I've had my account has been messed up 2x because of change in management. Once again there is a change and once again my account is messed up and when I called to talk to someone about it a girl named Heather who is new to the Rome location was very rude and condescending with how she spoke...she argued with me about my account and I told here her that I have all my orignal documents, receipts, etc for everything I've ever bought through them and she proceeded to tell me she doesn't care what I have because their computer says something else.. I asked for the manager to call me back when she got off the phone and of course never got a call back but when Bob and Kevin were there we never had issues, and they made sure if something was wrong they would fix it right away.... The only reason I give a 3 star is because they do have a few good employees like Karen and Dylan...they are the only reason I stay and don't go to somewhere else... Its sad that this Heather lady doesn't care of they lose people because when I said to here that she is going to make it to where I stop doing business and she didn't care because they have thousands of customer what is the opinion of one..
Every Saturday I get harassed with phone calls on the day my payments due. I'm late on payments while I'm underfunded but still pay them when I can. But getting three calls every Saturday is getting pretty old and to be frank after I pay off my product I'm never going through this company again. I almost forgot to mention I've had them show up at my house unannounced multiple times looking for a payment... I'm upset because I find this behavior from a professional company invading and unprofessional. I'll point out that even when I'm caught up and it's Saturday I still get harassed with phone calls. This is not how you do business.
