I rented a laptop for the summer academic term 2026 for the University of New Mexico classes. The software applications required for my coursework were outdated, rendering the device unsuitable for its intended purpose. Consequently, I found the rental of the laptop from Rent-A-Center to be an unsatisfactory experience.
Rent A Center used to have excellent customer service and I always enjoyed doing business with them. Paid off my car tires and couches and it was great! But lately the customer service has been VERY HORRIBLE! Being threatened over the phone to come pick up merchandise when only a day to few days late. I understand making payments on time is crucial but they should be more understanding of financial hardships. The payment still gets paid even when late and with late fees! This will be my last rental with this company and I cant wait to start business elsewhere.
Horrible service. Will not be doing business with them again.
I Always enjoy the customer service here. Jaren was awesome! ((Hope I spelt that right)) He greeted me as soon as I walked in & was very helpful! Walked out happy & now awaiting a new sectional couch to be delivered very soon! Thanks again!
Began a lease at the Gallup store, and was notified via text that the item was instore to pick up. I made arragements to pick up the item, only to be told that it wasnt there. I was told by staff that the messages were automated but when I showed them messages they still tried to say where automated. When I asked to start a new lease with the item instore i was told they couldnt because it was for someone else. I was then told that I could speak to the manager who for some reason is never in the store. Imagine being disabled being told to come into the store then being told the item wasnt there and then being refused service.
