Inside Rent-A-Center

What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Launched in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, it was the first national chain to scale the rent-to-own model, building standardized showrooms stocked with new, name-brand merchandise. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

I went in the store in Spencer Iowa looking for a gaming tower and instead of just the tower the lady hooked me up with an awesome set up for an amazing price and she made it an easy process to get in and out the door. I will definitely be returning in the future!!

one of the most predatory, ruthless business models in existence. Shopping here is literally lighting your money on fire. It's uncomfortable just seeing the store, knowing there's probably people I know who've been taken advantage of.

When my washer and dryer were delivered heard the two Associates disrespecting my home. My biggest annoyance is I told them when I get paid but yet it keeps telling me my accounts past due. Can't change my payday and I'm tired of getting phone calls and nasty text messages so to speak about my account being behind when I don't get paid for a day or two I've repeatedly told them when I get paid and I keep getting the pestering phone calls and text everyday

I went inside in search of a washer and dryer. The set I really wanted had sticky notes on them stating "good", but the young man that helped me stated he didn't know why that note was there as they needed to go in for repair. The other nice set was already spoken for. There were several other available sets on the floor, but they all looked like they came off of a truckload outlet sale truck that was in a bad accident or something... Badly dented and scratched. The top of one of them was even smashed in, and yet the discount on them for being badly damaged was negligible. When I walked in, both the workers were there, in the back room. I took a peak, and one of them was just on a computer with a headset on playing video games, but there was plenty to do in the store as there was plenty of cardboard from furniture and other merchandise just laying all over the place. I browsed around and noticed that a good majority of their merchandise is damaged in some shape or form, yet they charge more than retail price for it. I understand the upcharge, considering it's a bad credit place... But not to the point of costing more than a regular retail store would charge for the same item in New condition and not badly dented. In the end, I decided to do my business with RentAll just down the street, as their customer service and merchandise were both much better. Hopefully it doesn't take long to refund the Downpayment I made online.

If you move into an apartment of which the previous occupant did not pay, you will inherit harassment in the form of door hangers.
