Rent-A-Center

I would not recommend this Rent a center to NO ONE!!! our bill was due today Monday and a guy who thinks he's big time Mr. Repo man comes to our door demanding our stuff back (computer & plat station 5). I took the computer and play station outside n placed it by his truck door as he was no where to be found. Out of no where he pops up n sees the stuff on the ground. (Like I'm going to stand there n hold it until he decides to come back) He says did you throw it down I told him no I placed it on the ground. He started in on me well if it's broken you are paying for it. Again I repeated no it's not broken he chases me up my stairs yelling at me if it's broken he's paying for it (talking about my husband). I felt threatened by him as he actually chased me up my stairs. I told him to get off my property he got his stuff back what more does he want? (Does he want to sit here and argue?) Why else would he chase me up my stairs yelling about us paying for it if it's broken. I already told him I placed it on the ground n it's not broken so why was he chasing me? So yes I felt treated. I told him I was calling the police. And I was able to get in my house where I was safe from that Maniac. Like I said our bill was due today and he was here before noon repoing our stuff. What kinda stuff is that? We told them we got paid on Mondays n he tried to tell us the bill was due Friday. It was their mess up and they treat us like it was our fault. Again I strongly suggest not using this Rent a center I would advise going somewhere else than that place or any rent a center for that matter being they want to act like that. He would not give me his name and he didn't have a name tag on. If they say that stuff was broken they broke it trying to get more money out of us because I placed it on the ground. I had to give 1 star to post this review that's sad because I'd give them minus starts they don't deserve any!!!

The manager and sales associate were wonderful. Made everything and easy process and was knowledgeable about the products I was looking at.

I love working with Miss Teresa at the Joliet Rent-A-Center location. Her service is always above and beyond and she truly makes me feel like family.

The manager is very disrespectful to people of color her and someone named Lee . I was approved online I called and was told that I was on a blacklist of people who could not rent I have never given them any problems if I couldn’t pay for my stuff I gave it back .I have a recording from the manager Teresa which I am seeking to turn over to someone for the way she talked to me and about my family and anyone with my last name. I don’t understand what she has against me but I’m not going to be spoke to the way she does people when they come in the store but I stood up to her being a bully and she didn’t like it. Something need to be done about this or I will be seeking legal advice.Joliet store

Let me start by saying I have used rent a center in the past. Although in a different state and even if they were not able to accommodate me they were still extremely professional and respectful. The call center reps were the same way. Respectful and professional because at the end of the day you are still providing customer service. This store however where do I begin. This review is solely for any potential customers. I wouldn’t proceed even with caution. Let’s start from the beginning.1st the initial furniture I saw online wasn’t available so I “settled” for another living room set. And the same with the dining room. So I found some in store I liked and signed an agreement mind you I’ve done w this before I know how this works. I was on time with my payments but life started lifting and unexpected expenses appeared. I called one time in April and before my payment was late to let them know I’d need a deferment. They allowed it the next time I paid the late payment the payment I owed and it took my account in good standing until the end of May. However I needed another deferment and just called to see if I could get one. I was chastised like a 8 year old child my the store manager Teresa and I figure we’ll maybe she’s having an off day because I did not get belligerent loud wi to her or anything. Then I called the customer service center back because they said if the store can’t help give us a call back. And I did just that. They made a note for the district manager josh Johnson to call me oh and he did. He was condescending, rude, and belittling and gaslighting me. He refused to give me his managers name. So I said come get it cancel the agreement because even if I refuse to do business any longer with this company. I informed the regional manager of his actions and I’m sure they’ll do absolutely nothing but I decided to go to Ashley’s furniture store who have been all but professional and helpful.
