Inside Rent-A-Center

What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Launched in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, it was the first national chain to scale the rent-to-own model, building standardized showrooms stocked with new, name-brand merchandise. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

This place is by far the best ever, especially the manager very easy very friendly to work with, and we’ll go above and beyond anything in the world for his customers at the same time putting the company first as he should as far as the employees they are all truly amazing and treat you like you are a personal friend than just a customer, which is why I love the store and did business with them with an exception of the new female they hired which does raise a few concerns of mine. She does not treat in my opinion, people or me as a customer rather than a person that owes money like a debt collector, no friendly tones to her voice, no eye contact when visiting the store not a thing she acts like you owe her money, which puts a little damper in intimidation into some my opinion, she should either get retrained or find another job that suits her needs maybe in debt collection, but not in a store that people are buying products from at a well above market price for this reason I am hesitant on coming back and doing any more purchases been with this company for about a year or so, and I know the routine like the back of my hand, but yet get told by the new woman employee that they wanted me to continue to pay a three dollar a week fee to keep insurance on my products that I bought, which in the past after paying off an agreement it’s valid for one year because of her. I don’t know if I would be back or not, but the rest of the store is a rockstar.

I know a person that's too shy to post a review. She rented a set of furniture from Rent-A-Center, but later discovered that the furniture had bed bugs. At first, she tried to be understanding and thought she could handle the situation and get rid of them herself. Unfortunately, she ended up missing a payment, and Rent-A-Center sent employees to repossess the furniture. She understood that they were doing their job, but the situation quickly became very uncomfortable and frightening for her. As a woman alone, she found herself surrounded by several men who had come to barge in her house. She felt extremely unsafe in that moment, even though she was trying to cooperate and planned to go to the ATM to get the money to make the payment. While she was surrounded, the Rent-A-Center men began recording with their phones her and claimed that she was refusing to pay. The entire experience left her feeling scared and vulnerable, and it was one of the most unsafe situations she had ever been in. This was not only a poor customer experience, but an experience that a woman should have have to experience.

Some of the employees/leaders there are awesome like Andy and (I think it's) Justin. Super helpful, keep to what they say, they're organized, get you the best deals and really appreciate your business. Sorry I give y'all mess on pay day - I get paid late in the day and y'all call me at 10am. I'm sure I'm looking forward to the pay more than you are, but pllllleease stop calling ON my due date (blow up my phone after all ya want). The delivery guys? The best - especially the one who always comes here. They get the stuff in and swap stuff for me all the time (thanks for these guys, Andy!). Y'all truly rock! The girl there, though? Horrible attitude, only helpful if you're wanting to get something (quick attitude change during), does not try to figure out a deal, will mess up your whole account, puts you on hold without asking or even telling you. She's a mess, a straight mess. If this rating was solely based on her, it'd definitely be 0 stars. Please don't let her touch my account again.

Overall great customer service. The worker was friendly and made accommodations for my young son and offered him an activity book and crayons for a distraction.
