What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Hello. These 5 stars are for Zac. I placed an order online paided the 2 weeks, signed the paperwork, uploaded my information and documents with proof of residence and got my confirmation that I was good to go and item was mine to have while renting. The email I got let me know a store employee would call to let me know about how to get my item. I woke up at 9am and sat by the phone until 3pm waiting for a call. At 3:13 pm I called the store to see about my item. First I was put on hold for a manager and call hong up or dropped. I called right back and this time was told a member of sales will call me back. I was confused as I already got approved, paid, signed, and identified myself online but I said ok. I waited until 4:20pm and called customer service to make sure my order went though. Well it did and everything was good to go. CS put me on the phone with Zac. I spoke to Zac and he said bring in the two payments, but I already paid I stated. He realized it and was very humble and nice in correcting himself. He told me it had to be store pick up and to come in. I came in and spoke with Zac(kind and respectful employee he is), unfortunately the PC I ordered was not at the store. But Zac apologized and was very nice, and told me to just come pick it up Monday with no hassle as already is all ready to go. Just show id and walk out with PC. So I shall be back Monday for my PC and I'm happy that Zac was very helpful. The other two employees were less helpful and I have a feeling did not know I was a paid and ready to go customer. But I understand that situations could cause individuals to become sidetracked or unable to focus. Like being busy and working hard. So no complaints to those two. Just breathe and focus. It's ok. Also Zac kept calling my desktop PC a laptop, but he was so nice I did not want to correct him. And I'm hoping it's a desktop because that's what I order. The acers geforce rtx 5050 with a intel core i5-12400f bundle. Almost 90 every two weeks so I hope it's what I ordered lol. But a big thank you to Zac. Promotion for him should be considered.

My mom just moved to Macon from Savannah and we had a great experience with our choosing of her washer and dryer. Everyone helped amazingly and sufficiently. I don't remember everyone's name that helped but they were all helpful.

I just had an experience with Preston located at 3755 Bloomfield Rd #5a, Macon, GA 31206…. He is the ABSOLUTE WORST person you can ever deal with!!!!! The fact that he is a “supervisor” makes it even worse!!!! He does not belong working at that store as a supervisor or any place else for that matter with his nasty attitude!!!! Of corporate sees this you need to get rid of him!!!

This was one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I’ve had. I spoke with Zac on the phone earlier that morning and was told there was a delivery opening for the next day. Based on that information, I went into the store, paid a deposit, and began reviewing the agreement. While going through the paperwork, the delivery date changed multiple times within a short period. I understand this can happen as other customers come in, and while it was initially frustrating, Zac took the time to explain why the date shifted, which helped clarify the situation. However, once the delivery date changed, the payment schedule and the “6 months same as cash” promotion no longer aligned with what had just been explained. Because of this, I asked reasonable questions to understand what I was being asked to sign—specifically how the deposit related to the first payment, why the promotional period appeared shorter than advertised, and how the dates aligned if delivery was delayed. At that point, another employee—who appeared to be the manager—abruptly inserted himself into the conversation. He ignored the questions being asked, responded dismissively, and was extremely rude and disrespectful instead of offering clarification. When I attempted to restate my questions, he became sarcastic and hostile, accused me of demanding special delivery treatment (which I never requested), and instructed Zac to cancel the agreement. Zac and I continued reviewing the paperwork calmly, and he was answering my questions appropriately while I was in the process of signing. The other employee then repeatedly shouted from the office to cancel the agreement, despite my deposit already having been taken. Zac was clearly put in the middle of this situation and was genuinely trying to help me understand the agreement and complete the transaction. The other employee eventually returned and forced the process to stop. When I asked if I was being refused service for asking questions about the contract, I was explicitly—and sarcastically—told yes. The interaction ultimately ended in a back-and-forth with this employee, which understandably escalated after my time had been wasted, my money taken, and the contract canceled solely because I wanted clarity on the terms. When I asked for management or district contact information, I was told to “Google it.” There is nothing unreasonable about wanting to understand delivery dates, payment schedules, and financing terms before signing a financial agreement. Taking a customer’s money, canceling a contract over questions, and destroying paperwork is completely unacceptable. I would strongly caution others before doing business here. I should have checked these reviews before even giving them a chance, the reviews about the store manager are very accurate.
