Inside Rent-A-Center

What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Launched in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, it was the first national chain to scale the rent-to-own model, building standardized showrooms stocked with new, name-brand merchandise. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

I'm not surprised at The five-star reviews because they prey on people that don't understand things very well, after listening to a 40-minute conversation with my wife I grabbed the phone and had them come get their stuff because they were scamming us. Their stuff is broken, they will bring you furniture and ask for your help bringing it up the stairs, will track mud in your house and not set it up correctly, they will charge you the highest price that they can possibly negotiate out of you, and then try to scam you out of money and I'm not sure where my review went but this particular location tried very hard to scam us out of money. When I had enough I decided to use chat GDP and explained my situation, I was advised to contact mattress firm. They wear booties on their feet they set up your bed and allow you to get comfortable with the remote while wearing professional clothes and not smoking outside and in the truck, charge you roughly 25% less to buy the furniture not rent it. They show up with a crew of enough people to carry it up by themselves, and what we got was brand spanking new not used. Save yourself the time headache money dignity and respect yourself enough to go through mattress firm. Whenever I see that tag on my door from Rent-A-Center I rip it up and throw it away, none of this is slander because it's true, they tried to bamboozle my wife and I've never been more angry at a company in my whole life and I leave a lot of five-star reviews. I have not gone through buddies but if you're looking for something that's not a bed I suggest going through buddies because Rent-A-Center and oh shoot I forget the name of the other place but there are two main leaders both of which screw people over, I haven't heard anything bad about buddies but I can't vouch for them just whatever you do believe me when I say This particular location is tactical in conning people out of money. When I called corporate they were very nice to me and I'm not so sure that every Rent-A-Center is bad I just know that the Centralia location is ran by crummy people that scam you out of money for garbage furniture, corporate got my money back and I'll never go through Rent-A-Center again for as long as I live.

If I could rate zero I would. These fools did not know anything about the products they were selling. We came in to buy a GAMING laptop, to be used daily with good quality games. When we first walked in, we asked about the laptops they had. All they could tell us is that they were "good for gaming" and when I asked about details on a specific part (how many GBs of RAM it had), they just stared at me blankly. ITS A SIMPLE QUESTION! When we bought the computer however, most high quality games could not even be PLAYED because its graphics card was not good enough. Shame on this company. They have sued my family for allegedly not returning an item when Rent-A-Center refused to pick it up. This whole company is a scam.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE!!!!!! By far the worst management I have ever been exposed to as a customer. The manager of this store is argumentative and tried to cancel my order after they were supposed to deliver the furniture. I had already paid and was told I had to come in within 7 days for a refund. Shortly after she called back (still argumentative) and told me that they would still like to deliver.
