What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Launched in 1973 in Wichita, Kansas, it was the first national chain to scale the rent-to-own model, building standardized showrooms stocked with new, name-brand merchandise. Stores carry furniture, appliances, electronics, computers, mattresses, gaming, and smartphones on flexible weekly or monthly lease agreements, and like most rent-to-own stores they typically do not require a traditional credit check. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

I’m giving this company a 1-star review because I’m very unhappy with the way they handle business. I used to work with an employee there named Eric, and he was always professional, helpful, and great to deal with. One day I called the Rent-A-Center in Burien and asked for him, and the woman who answered the phone casually told me he was fired. Honestly, that was disappointing because he was one of the few employees who actually provided great customer service. On top of that, I purchased brand-new furniture in January, and by the beginning of March it started squeaking and making noises like it was old or defective. I repeatedly called the store for weeks asking them to come pick up or replace the furniture, but nothing was ever done. Every time I called, I was told they were “working on it.” Then during the last week of my term, they suddenly told me they could not switch out the furniture and that I would have to look online myself for a replacement option. Now they constantly want to call me about payments, but ignored me for six weeks when I was trying to resolve the issue with defective furniture. I will never deal with the Burien Rent-A-Center again. The customer service was unprofessional, the communication was terrible, and the issue was never properly handled. They really lost a good employee when they let Eric go. And a very good customer , I have been using there services over 10 years and I’m disappointed,

Extremely rude., I can take accountability for my mistake. But they didn’t have to handle me that way or accuse of me of anything the first time I worked with these people a couple years ago it was so smooth and they were so understanding even paid off a dinning table. Tried to work with them again which a mishap happened with my bank and they were completely rude , mean and childish I heard multiple people laughing in the background while talking. It was extremely unprofessional I’m just lost for words

Terrible experience here. Originally my bedroom set was supposed to be dropped off and when they never showed up I was told it would be a month later than expected and they were apologetic and said the manager would put in a discount for me. Okay. I’ll sleep on an air mattress for a month whatever. The people finally show up and build my stuff, there is no box spring with the set I got so I had my own that I bought here. The builders tell me they can’t fit the slats that come with the bed AND my box spring and mattress, so they leave off the slats of the bed, and just put my box spring and mattress on the very slim “lips” of the inside of the bedframe. I could tell as a customer that this wasn’t right immediately so idk how people who build stuff all day for a living couldn’t. Anyway, I call rent a center to have them come back and put the slats on the bed because it’s sinking in the middle heavily because there’s NO SUPPORT. I’m told they will come fix it on a certain day, they don’t show up. I call again, “sorry the truck is broken down they can’t come today”. Fine. We plan another day for them to come, I am working a lot so I inform the manager (ERIC) that morning that my roommate will let them into the house and the slats they left off the bed are right in my closet against the back right corner of it and to PLEASE relay the information to the guys coming to fix the bed. The guys show up and call me once while I’m busy with a patient at work, I also see one missed call from my roommate. I call back 10 minutes after the initial missed call and Eric (angrily) says the guys were waiting for me for over 30 minutes and couldn’t find the slats, says they’ll come back some other day. I call my roommate, the guys were there for not even 10 minutes and the slats were exactly where I told Eric to tell them I left them. I’m an understanding person but at this point I’ve given up on rent-a-center. I have a friend of mine rig the bed and fix it ourselves with tools from Home Depot. I don’t speak with rent a center again until I decide to move and I no longer want/need this furniture so I call to return it. Mind you, I am moved out of this apartment and the only thing keeping me from getting a new person on the lease here is all the rent a center crap still in the room. I schedule a pickup date/time frame and I wait in the apartment I no longer live in for hours for them to show up… they don’t. I call them and there’s a “flat tire” on the truck. They really need to do better preventative maintenance on these TRUCKS!!!!!! I am told that it’s on them now and I won’t be charged for another month but they have to wait to pick up the furniture until today. I have spent all day here waiting for them and it’s past the window for them to pickup this furniture and they’re not here and they’re not answering the phone. I have to be somewhere an hour away. (P.s. 30 minutes past the pickup window they answered the phone and said they will be here 1-2 hours from now. I have to leave in 20 minutes. Oh and to be clear, I never got a discount (that was promised to me) or anything for any of the inconvenience.

Omg! Vanessa is FABULOUS! I was originally with RAC Everett for many years and had to switch when the management changed... long story, read my review on them.... but Vanessa and the new guy (I think Hank, forgive me if the name is wrong) saved the freaking day!!! I live in N Seattle, so I wasn't sure if they could service me, but they made SURE they could!!! Love my new furniture and the friendly, knowledgeable and considerate staff at RAC Burien. They made sure RAC kept my business and I promise you, them and I will NEVER be disappointed. Check out pics (horrible placement, took them as soon as they were delivered, but super cute furniture) of the oversized chairs I was dying for... they even special ordered them to assure I was satisfied with my purchase. ❤️❤️

Worst experiance ever, dont ever get something that you didnt want they will take forever to take it back and wont give you credit for what you paid for. Even corporate sucks.
