I really wish I had read the reviews before coming here because my experience matches many of the complaints I now see. From day one, the staff has been unprofessional and disorganized, especially an employee named Denzel. I requested multiple times not to deal with him due to his attitude, yet issues continued. The ordering process was confusing, delivery broke my front screen door, and I was told someone would follow up about repairs that never happened. I also receive excessive phone calls about payments before it’s even due though I already get text and email reminders. Their only job seems to be cold calling. They are not knowledgeable or competent in any other areas . When I recently asked why my payment amount increased from one day to the next, Denzel could not explain it. He kept saying it get you to your next payment. I said Sir, anything I pay will get me to my next payment . Is that additional a late fee ? Ect? He kept saying “ it gets you to your next payment ”. I guess he’s only used to dialing out sayin “ payment is due ” and knows nothing about the accounts and gets severely frustrated when asked for clarification. I have to know what I’m paying for. I was given vague answers and then he hung up on when I requested to speak with the general manager. I recorded the end of the conversation. I guess he’s used to people allowing him to talk to them any kind of way or he’s used to calling people who cannot afford to pay or wheee RAC is ther only option he has this disrespectful aura but you’ve met your match! Because that’s not the case with me, you will not talk to me any kind of way! To make matters worse, several items arrived defective or incomplete (mirror lights not working, cracked TV back, no remote). I was told to come get the remote and still given the wrong remote and had to purchase a universal one myself. This company seriously needs better training, accountability, and customer service standards. If I could give zero stars, I would. I contacted corporate and I’m waiting on a call from the GM within 24-48 hours. I’ve also typed up a formal complaint I’m mailing off this morning. Based on these reviews this is a reoccurring issue but I have ample time to make sure it’s either shut down or the employees are reprimanded, fired or trained . To conclude my review RUN!! RUN!! RUN!! There are other options. The staff is the biggest issue with this store and nobody wants to deal with nasty people .

I’ve been dealing with rent a center off and on for a while. They pissed me off today. I went online to reserve a PlayStation 5 for my son. It is always misleading because they tell you to use a promo code it’s free and no payment due. Then I call the store to find out when it will be delivered and I’m told that I would still have to put a down payment!? That is misleading and really just turned me off as a customer. They lie online and when you call it’s a different story. It’s better off to buy in cash rather than get ripped off by these people. I currently am rent a tv but I’m thinking to have them pick it up because I am disgusted.

10-13-2025… since the new ppl took over the store it has been horrible. They are rude, unprofessional, unfriendly. They don’t have the knowledge on how to treat ppl. They do what they want. I have been dealing with rent a centers for close to 30 yrs. This is the worse one ever. These ppl shouldn’t be working in the store. This store use to have a manager working there that was friendly and knew how to treat ppl. I don’t know what ever happened to him. One day he was there the next gone. Hopefully he decided to leave on his own and not have to deal with Rent A Centers BS. Since then the store has gone done hill. Don’t do business with them. They are terrible.

Had 1 good employee, she did amazing i forget name but she said assistant manager. Everyone else has been rude, treating me like I'm stupid. It wasn't in store Wednesday so was told it would be in Thursday, they didn't put it on the list to get so they said Friday, still wasn't in, so I called in today and now I'm being told monday. Like how is it delivered to wrong store if it's for someone to go get these items like I was told. And I was told it was in virginia beach location, then a hour later was told it was in portsmouth, and now I'm being told it was delivered to the wrong location so now it's at portsmouth how is it possible it was accidentally delivered to the same store it came from? And the fact they knew my name when I called shows how ridiculously long this is taking.

if i could it would be ZERO STARS! I always pay… and if i’m gonna be late i tell them im never late more then a week . the manager is very very rude. i got on the phone with him i said hey very nicely he said what do you want very rudely i said hello cause who is this!!! does not sound professional at all…. and he repeated what do you want very rudely again and was rude toned the whole call … i dont get what the issue is with me being a week late when I always pay really all the rent a center managers around here are rude… i DONT RECOMMEND
