I normally do not leave negative reviews, but my recent experience with Rent-A-Center was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to warn others before doing business with this location. I understand that businesses have policies and that payments are expected. However, there is a way to speak to people with professionalism, empathy, dignity, and respect — especially customers who are communicating honestly about temporary hardships. I was only a few days late on a payment due to a serious family emergency. Within less than 48 hours, my sister underwent emergency surgery and my father suffered a heart attack. When I explained these circumstances to the store manager, Macy, the response I received was simply: “You’re gonna make a payment or not?” There was no compassion, no professionalism, no courtesy, and certainly no empathy. The tone and demeanor were unnecessarily rude, cold, and disrespectful. To make matters worse, Luke’s attitude toward customers is equally unacceptable. He speaks to people in a belittling and threatening manner, as if customers are beneath him, even when they are maintaining communication and trying to handle their responsibilities. What makes this even more frustrating is the fact that I am less than two months away from paying off the merchandise I purchased during a family housing emergency. Customers should not be treated like trash simply because they experience temporary life circumstances. The only employees at this location who showed any level of professionalism, courtesy, and respect were Daniel and “T.” They were the only individuals who treated customers like human beings. Customer service is not just about collecting payments — it is also about how you treat people during difficult moments in their lives. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to think carefully before doing business with this particular store.

Got the run around about a couch set, called in to tell them I can’t make a payment until Friday, the credit manager was a completely rude and just would not even acknowledge anything. Get a different manager. The old manager you guys fired was 100% better. Do better!

They are liars, say one thing and does something completely different. I got a couch after getting the run around my couch was supposed to be delivered on a Monday, then they said Wednesday, I didn’t receive my couch till Friday. After waiting a week in a half and finally getting it delivered they called asking about a payment the next day. When they come out to your house they’re very rude and for some reason like to touch people mailboxes. For anyone who is looking to lease furniture etc DO NOT COME HERE.. THEY ARE 100% FULL OF CRAP!!
I order a bundle 65 in tv and couch! I ordered online sept 4th. And im still making payments on items i do not have. When you call the store it says they are busy. Corporate has even tried to call the store and cant get through to them. Im highly upset.
