This review is in reference to the experience I had with the District Store manager name Joel. (If that is his real name) because the name he gave me turned out not to be his name. On 6/18/2025 I called rent-a center to see when I could come pick up a radio because I had to get one replaced that I had received from them a week prior but it was not working. When I called the district store manager answered and I told him the what was going on he told me to call back in a hour and he will have an answer. I ended up going to the store because if the new radio was not there ready I was going to cancel that account. When I walked in he came out the office. His voice was definitely the same voice that I had spoke to over the phone. I told him that I had called about the radio and I was here to pick it up if it was ready. He said what kind of radio is it. I said I'm not sure its in the system. I think he took that as me being rude and started making grunting sounds. So I said, I am not trying to be rude but I don't know that name of the radio. He kept making grunting sound as if he was trying to intimidate me. I then ask him if he was okay, and if he wanted to say something to me to please say it rather then making those grunting noises. (At that point I was feeling very uncomfortable with him.) Because he was still making the noises while he was looking up my information. So once he figured out the new radio that they had for me he then said their probably wasn't nothing wrong with the old radio. It was just probably the operator issue (meaning I'm the reason it was not working as if I am incompetent of hooking up a radio ). I then stated to him that me and the store manager Jessi looked at the radio and he seen that there was in fact a issue. He then stated that well if there is an issue with this new radio then we know who it is. I felt very insulted. When I got home and unboxed the knew radio I hooked it up. I then took the bag that contained the power cord and remote. I turned the bag and and the remote was broke. Then I pressed the the button to open the CD and it would not open. I called back and a woman named Tina answered and told me to come back the next day. I came back on June 19 (June-tenth) and the store manager Jessi helped me and got he me right with something even better. This complaint is not with the store because the store manager Jessi and the other employees that work there are always great so I will continue to do business with them. But the District Manager Joel or what ever his name is was very disrespectful. If you are in a high position you should never insult or try to intimidate no customer let alone a female customer like that. If he can NOT control his grunts then he should not be in that position. I recommend he take some management classes. I have been waiting on a call from corporate to report this issue. THE STORE ITS SELF GETS A 5 star. BUT THIS 1 STAR is to the DISTRICT MANAGER.

Never been late on a payment. They lie to you about price. And pay off option is a rip off. You end up paying triple the price just for financing. And I'm still paying on it. Almost a year now. The charges are insane. I won't do it again and won't recommend.

This has been a terrible experience. Jesse I believe is his name, the guy in financial, he got mad because I wouldn’t pay early, so I could be enter into a drawing to win something. I told him I was at work and I didn’t care about no drawing. I told him I’d pay when it’s drafted out my account on every Saturday. He got mad and started being rude, tried to say he would send someone out to pick my stuff up before it’s even due. Said it is his property and he can do with it as he please. I’m just going to pay it off and be done. I don’t recommend this place for the unprofessionalism there. I also forgot to mention when they came to my house trying to pick my stuff up 3 weeks ago and I had to call and find out why and they weren’t sure why she came by. My stuff was paid up 2 weeks in advance at that time too. It’s just pathetic.
