What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

We went in a couple days before our wedding to rent a speaker. We were stuck in there for 45 minutes, there were no other customers the entire time. Since we had never rented before they couldn't rent to us by the week so we were charged for a month. What I went in expecting would be $60 based on their site it was now $145. I was in a hurry so fine. Then it turned into an INSANE amount of paper work and information we had to provide. I'm talking SSN for me and my husband, proofs of address, multiple "references" which meant they called our family members. Even after all that we weren't allowed to leave with the product so my husband had to go back the day before our wedding and deal with more nonsense. Frankly I felt like a criminal being given parole requirements. My husband remarked that it was like a DMV and IRS visit all in one. Lastly I want to speak on this specific location. The employees are... not great. They didn't listen at all. I must have gave the guy the same information 15 times. He got us half way through the process then had an issue with the address I gave (my parents) not being tied to my husband who was doing the rental. So he started the entire thing over in my name. The manager sat feet away with the door open in his office listening to his, clearly new, employee struggle and refused to come help. The employee had to keep going in and asking him questions every few minutes. After 45 minutes and us clearly getting fed up he finally came to the desk and said "let's get this nice couple out of here" then proceeded to quickly finish the rental. Apparently that couldn't be done before. They recently charged my card twice for a membership... I was NEVER asked or informed about that being in a contract which we never were given. This place is a typical scam in my opinion. Overcharging for things you'd be better off buying outright. Please don't bother reaching out either. I simply want to warn others before they start the process.

Let me just say they're rude, and a sketchy as hell, at first I went on the online black friday deal.Put a pennies down for a item, but every time I did that, it got refunded, then, I put down $10 for the other deal. They had gag confirmation number got a delivery date. Pay thirty dollars for the delivery, Deliver the date showed up item. Never got delivered. Call the store asked them hey Where's the item at? They told me they canceled without notifying me. I felt kind of sketchy about it. I called another store. Ask them about that this store. Cause it still feels sketchy, five days later why is my order still on there, i still haven't got refund.I called of the other name they're trying to say, I'm the one acting sketchy. I guess they don't like it when people try to figure out what's going on with them. But it's all good, though. I went to the competitor anyway with better prices. I went rent from these people. Oh, yeah, and also just got off the phone with corporate. They never canceled it the store manager told corporate, the only reason why they cancel it cause they didn't have everything on me , you literally called me on a 8th about the delivery date plus my check stoves and everything. If you don't want to save your money and save your time.Go to arrands, think I better attitude, and they actually help

It was horrible, a complete and utter waste of my time false advertisement… I was approved got my spending limit got the item I wanted had a promo for the first payment to be $10 which I made it was taking out of my account. I signed the agreements and everything then they were emailed to me the next thing I know I get a second email saying it was the corrected agreement and I would no longer be able to access my other agreement after this, I couldn’t even get either one of the agreements to open. When I looked back at the site, I could not find the order I made only a thing to contact my local store, which I did only to be told that the item her text was not available at their store and I would have to make a full month payment before they would even have it shipped to them so they took the $10 out of my account for nothing which still has not been put back into my account and my item I am assuming I am not getting unless I pay a full month payment So they charged me $10 for nothing and still have not given my me my money back and evidently I am not going to get what I purchased they said for being a new customer my first payment would be $10. It was a promo that is false advertisement. and to top that off my card was also charged another $8.99 that I don’t even know what it was for so they charged my card twice only to tell me that I would have to make another $149 payment before they would even get the thing sent to their store for me to get I wish I could give it a zero star rating. It is bad enough. The interest they charge on everything you buy is ridiculous. You paid double for the item but whenever you do decide to give them a try for the one charge you authorized, but for another charge that I don’t know what it was for only to tell you that they don’t have that at that store and you have to make , a full payment before they will get it shipped to their store for you to get
