Rent-A-Center

I feel bad giving them even one star, because zero stars was not an option. The customer service at this location is extremely poor. It appears that the delivery drivers run the manager, as she does not seem to know how to perform her responsibilities. The team is very childish when it comes to handling situations, and the overall experience was unacceptable. They even retaliate against customers after receiving an honest review on the survey they send out, which is completely unprofessional. Do not do business with the Rent-A-Center in Iowa City. I have video evidence on my Ring camera that clearly shows how unprofessional and inadequate their service is. This place is truly terrible.

I was planning to purchase furniture from the Rent-A-Center in Iowa City, but after hearing what my friend experienced, I will not be going anywhere near this location. She explained that she had a payment plan and was making her payments on time, yet still ended up dealing with a series of issues. First, the couch that was delivered to her was dirty, and the delivery crew damaged her walls while bringing it inside. When she addressed these concerns, they did not take her seriously. She also mentioned that the workers were tossing her couch cushions and were disrespectful when she confronted them about it. She then spoke with the manager, who told her she would “talk to the delivery guys.” However, when they brought the replacement couch, my friend wasn’t home—only her siblings were. According to them, the delivery crew refused to go inside the house because of the previous situation. They made the kids drag the old couch into the garage and move everything themselves. When my friend asked who would set up the new couch if the crew refused to enter the home, it became clear that no one was willing to assist her. After going back and forth with the customer and offering no real solution, the delivery driver even threatened to cancel her agreement if she did not agree to have the couch dropped off in the garage without assembly. Based on everything she went through, I definitely will not be making any purchases from this location. The way she was treated is completely unacceptable, especially from a company that claims to provide customer service.

I will never do business with rent a center in Iowa city ever again… they are so pushy… literally my bill is due by end of day and they called the same day to demand payment…. They have lack of communication until they want money… super disappointed in they way they business…

I been going to this RAC for 9 years. Katy is the first person to greet us the first time. We went there and ever since we ask for Katy. She’s very professional, caring person and really understanding. Never had a problem with them. I highly recommend RAC Iowa city and go to Katy.

It's nice when the manager greets you with a friendly smile and....remembers your name all while multitasking😊. I love the Iowa City store because they always have what your looking for and at great prices. Thank you Katie for a great experience today.
