What you can rent here

Rent-A-Center is a national rent-to-own chain with 1,948 stores across all 50 states, reaching communities from Lawrence, Massachusetts and Kissimmee, Florida to Harlingen, Texas and Booneville, Mississippi. Rent-A-Center holds a 4-star Google rating across more than 152,000 reviews. Compare Rent-A-Center on VRTO alongside other rent-to-own stores near you, with hours, ratings, and what each carries.

I had a frustrating experience with this Rent-A-Center location. After falling behind on payments (16 days) due to a military-related move and having to leave my job, I did attempt to communicate with them, but was told there had been “zero communication,” which wasn’t accurate. Instead of working with me on a solution, the tone of the messages I received felt accusatory and immediately escalated to demanding the return of the merchandise. I understand policies need to be followed, but a little more understanding and willingness to work with customers during difficult situations would go a long way. Not to mention the fact that they kept saying I “breached my contract” by moving basically accusing me of stealing because I HAD to move due to my husbands PCS orders. If you’re considering renting from here, just be aware that communication and flexibility may not be what you expect if something unexpected happens. Employees are rude and aggressive.

I will never do business here again. In Dec called to pay off my account I was told they would call me back the next day and nothing. Came back from holiday leave called Jan 4th and was told my account was paid off. I got a missed called today with a voicemail to contact the store. I call and they said I have to pay almost $400. Avoid this place and go to Ashley’s. No one wants to take ownership and it’s automatically the customers fault.

Excellent customer service! I was in a rush and they made sure I got out of there promptly. They were able to deliver what I ordered by the next day, and they were great about communication, delivery and set up. A+ all around. Extremely grateful for the aloha and drama-free transaction at a very stressful time in our lives! 🙏🏽

They used to be super cool. I had rented items different times throughout the years and would return them if I found a better deal but if not I would pay them off. This recent time I rented had been a hassle. First they put me on the wrong pay schedule, then they call all the time if you’re even a day late. Then they get rude when you need to make arrangements or extensions as if you’re ducking them or something. I have made 10 payments and most are no later than a few days as I get paid either Friday or Saturday and sometimes I don’t pay til Monday. But always paid. Now I’m getting texts telling me that my payments are late and it makes me look bad and all this… like Jesus it’s just a $50 a week item. Not like I have full living room and bedroom sets and a $700/wk bill from them… I get they have a job to do but the passive aggressive tone and lack of customer service are definitely why they don’t get more than a few stars on here. Sad because prior to this year I’d have given em 5 stars Update: Wanted to update my review to remove a star… They still act like you’re gonna run off with an item if you’re a day late (mind you some DDs don’t hit til Monday or Tuesday because of the amount of holidays coming up) and now for some reason, if they deem your item damaged, while it is out for repair or replacement, you still have to pay for the item. It’s easier to just go through the manufacturer warranty. No point in those Plus Benefits if while my items it being repaired or replaced, I still have to pay for something I’m not even able to use. If I rent a car they don’t make me wait for a new one while it’s in the shop they just give me a new One and if they can’t that’s the end of the agreement… I know they themselves can’t replace my device because it is no longer in production so I’d be paying for an item I can’t use while they look for a used version of my device or find it new and pay a reseller out of pocket… I used to really like RAC but since I’m almost done with my payments, I’ll be paying this item off and refusing to do business with them again.

Wow, this place is something else. The moment I walked in I felt uncomfortable. The customer service here is atrocious to say the least... It's full of fake people who don't know the true meaning of aloha and how to be welcoming. The people here are snobs and they will snicker and make jokes about you behind your back for looking a certain way. I just went in to buy something and the mean girl vibes here were off the charts. Never going back!

I recently had heart surgery, and what followed was the most humiliating experience of my life. This company sent a truck to my home, blaring its horn for several minutes, as if I were some sort of criminal—all because I scheduled a pickup for the following week. My account is nearly paid off, and though I've been a few days late in the past, I've always made my payments. This wasn't just unprofessional; it felt like a deliberate attempt to embarrass me. It's hard to believe that a company could endorse such behavior. Respect for another human being is a basic principle, yet this company seems to prioritize intimidation over common decency. They're quick to threaten you if you're a day late, but as soon as you're close to paying things off or request a pickup, they turn hostile.
