Rent-A-Center

I went in and got a couch for My daughter and I new apartment. The ordering process was easy. The delivery was not. I had to leave work early. The guy went to the wrong address saying I wrote it down wrong, but I didn’t. He even checked the receipt. He went to the wrong address because he read it wrong when he delivered, he kind of scuffed up my door as well and had a hard time getting it through. He was the only one to show up to deliver this big sectional couch so I had to help him. I went in that same month to make a cash deposit so that way I could get closer to my early payoff The boss at the time said the machines were down and that they couldn’t give me an actual receipt so she gave me a handwritten receipt and took my cash. I went on to pay my couch like normal and here comes the month where I’m supposed to early pay off I was under the impression that was the end of the month, but I was wrong. So I went through my payment history and I couldn’t find my cash deposit. I called and no one knew about this cash deposit. Luckily, I still had my dated and assigned receipt from this old manager, who apparently now no longer works there, and I am now finding out that The guy who delivered my couches now, the manager And they are going to honor my $400 cash deposit because I have an actual receipt proof but I am past my early pay off so I am still going to be forced to Pay more on a couch that I could’ve had paid off by now this place is the worst most unprofessional. I was nothing but nice to them. I didn’t complain, but this woman took my cash and never put it on my account and they are just acting as if this is normal and when I come to pay it off the honor and credit Do you think that they would be doing more but this is it? And it took them a Week to get back to me about what they were going to do and Go about this Absolutely ridiculously absurd. I will not buy from rent a center again once I do finally purchase my couch.

My wife found a great bedset for the room here. We were debating between them and “yes now”. Unfortunately we picked them. We needed a little extra time on a payment so my partner paid half to try to get us until next 15 days. They decided to only give us a week. They literally interrupted our timing with meeting my autistic daughters therapy. I had to prevent that from happening when they knock on my door. They will not work with you.

Very disappointed with the El Cajon rent a center. I have been a customer for many years. Bought couches from them in the past. They have always been very helpful in working with payment plans. I went in to buy my third couch in three years from John was told if I paid a certain amount I will be paid off by the third month. I miss the last payment because I had some card issues and got caught up with life forgot to give them a call. Johnny came.over to were I live I had like I said forgotten to update my phone number and miss one payment which I was willing to make. I gave him my number apologize for forgetting this last time to call them he left to the store and call me . I ask him that I thought we were close to paying off the sofa he said you missed your last payment so know you owed double. $795 more!!!! I told him that is outrageous not worth that sofa as we had already paid close to $700 for it. We're missing the $95 payment to finish and he was telling me that know I had to paid $795 more for it. Him not being trying to be helpful.or nothing. As I also.remember we were paying a little bit more for.an insurance to cover if we miss a payment. He did not even acknowledge or tried to help me in the least bit. I told him.they could come.and pick them up. I will never never buy from them again. Customer service, and for it not being my first time buyer I expected more.

Placed online order for dining room table paid the money for the down. It asked me to schedule delivery date I scheduled for April 15th 1-4 items never showed. I called an associate stated she needed paperwork I sent her and she never got back to me. I called to see if she got is no response they would not answer the phone. Very disappointing as I would have been a great customer of rent a center as I needed a few items for my new home.

Sales Rep Johnny and the office manager made an impossible delivery happen. They were professional courteous….everything customer service should be but lacking in other rent a center stores I’ve dealt with in the past. Definitely going to refer my friends and family to the El Cajon Main Street location!
