Rent-A-Center

I purchased a quad plex 5 months ago and currently live in one of the units as I’m remodeling it. Guys from this store have shown up to my place every couple weeks since closing, asking for a guy that doesn’t live here and are now leaving notes on my door from the “store manager” saying I have violated my agreement (blah, blah, blah) with threats. The person they are looking for has not lived here for 5+ months. I have told the guys that come by repeatedly the guy does not live here and they always badger me about a play station and inquiring if one was left behind. No, no one left a play station behind and no, I don’t know anyone by the name of Alvin. Next visit or notice I receive, I’m calling the Portsmouth pd.

i’d give these people one star gave me a tv that was broken AND THEN the next one was used no discount and duct tape was on it and scratched harassed me knocking on my door cause i’m a few day late when we made a commitment i don’t understand but all rent a center manager are horrible do NOT GO THROUGH THEM

Ive used them for a few years & have been satisfied up until recently. It would've been a five for the most part,but one particular associate really disrespected me in the phone about missing one payment week because of my check being late & that soured me on dealing with your store, because I've never not paid my bill. If I'm late I have no issue of paying the late fee because I'm late ,but thst young fellow disrespected the hell out of me over that payment. He wasn't trying yo hear anything I had to say other then "will I be making a payment today?" That's not how you treat your real customers that pay their bills.[Edit] After posting my review i got a email/response from rent a center telling me to call them & I did. The person who answered basically brushed me off with several "mhmms" like she wasn't interested. She was causally doing it to the point i stopped talking & said "you aren't paying this any mind are you?" Which she proceeds to ask me for the phone number associated with the account ignoring what I just said to her. @rent a center it seems bad attitudes are rampant in your company.

I have rented from this location for almost 20 years. Paid off more than 27 different items. Yes it always costs more than buying straight out but they are offering credit at easy payments so you should expect that. I have always paid on time and never had any issues with any of the staff, pay your bills as due and you will have zero problems as well. Always have received great service, they even ran me over a new dryer at the very last minute when I needed it after my dryer broke at 4:30 in the afternoon.

If I could give no stars i definitely would, the manager and staff of this store is completely unprofessional and rude. The receptionist or whoever she is laughs about everything and the manager lies and listens to every conversation but doesn’t want to talk to you in regards to your order. They have rescheduled my delivery 3-4 times within in one week and I’m a new customer. I highly do not recommend anyone to get anything from the store. They honestly need to be reported.
