My boyfriend got his wheel “fixed” last week. He bent his rim and was told they could fix it, it might just have a slight discoloration. He dropped it off Saturday but it took until Thursday for them to completely ruin his wheel worse than it already was. The bend isn’t fixed and now there’s all kinds of scratches and dents in it as well. Do NOT use Rimtyme in Lexington.
They were able to fix my tire so I didn’t have to buy a replacement. Saves me money. Friendly staff.
I searched all around Lexington for the best rim prices, and ended up going to Rimtyme. I went there initially to get an idea of what I could get, and ended up coming back because they had the best prices. I got an order and it came in within a week. I also got a brake caliber paint service along with the rim replacement. They did everything within a timely manner, only about three hours. I had a pleasant experience there 👍🏽
I was told by several people that “rimtyme” was the best place to go to for wheel repairs but unfortunately that is far from the truth. I took my wheel there and all I asked was for one simple request “please have your welder call me before doing any repairs”. 2 weeks go by and come to find out “they must have lost my contact information” I find out by a personal friend what condition my wheel was in they told him to tell me it was ready for pick up, there was no communication as requested they decided to go on and have there “professional welder” do the repair without talking to me first as requested. Before the “repair” was done the bead was still set and it held full psi with no leaking now it holds no air and I’m out of a $600 + dollar wheel. Also there are several new scratches on the face of the wheel my guess is they don’t know how to respect people stuff. If you don’t want to end up like me don’t trust rimtyme like I did.
Happy with the service and they were fast. But how ever had the tires on for 2 days. The car handles a lot worse. And told me that the tires wouldn’t rub. Well they are rubbing the inner fender. Call them told me there was nothing they could do about it. I would either have to cut back the inner fender which I shouldn’t have to do or put a leveling kit on. So not very happy. And they made it right so we are good to go. So I am happy.
