What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Aaron's directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

I never make complaints about businesses but this one in particular is ridiculous!! I'm so glad that my things are almost paid off with them!! I will never work with them again! I have been asking for my dryer door to be screwed back on for OVER 6 months after being lied to numerous times AND I DO MEAN NUMEROUS TIMES PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THEY WERE COMING OUT TO FIX IT AND NEVER SHOWED UP SIX SEVEN TIMES MAYBE AND I HAVE TALKED TO EVERY MANAGER THAT I CAN POSSIBLY TALK TO AT THIS PLACE EVEN WALKED INTO THE LAWRENCEBURG STORE AND HAD THEM CALL ON MY BEHALF months later they finally send two workers out without even having a screwdriver and said we have to take your dryer I said I already told y'all you may not take my dryer unless I have a replacement I have five children I cannot let laundry build up like that. I work 40 hours a week. I called last Tuesday when they took my dryer and ask them when I would have a replacement I was then towed I would get a call back I never did I called back the next day they were working on it and would give me a call back yet again they never called me back the weekend comes I called them on Monday I speak with someone they said they're going to have the manager get back with me never called me it is now going on Tuesday again no dryer no replacement dryer and absolutely no contact from Aaron's who keeps telling me they will call me back. This is the worst and I do mean worse customer service I have ever experienced in my life I cannot believe the treatment.
I visited the store today, with a purchase in mind. I met Karen and explained my interest in a few items. She was fantastic. She was detailed in the explanations. The pros and cons of everything. She was genuinely concerned about my interests. She should be an educator and trainer for customer service. Top notch. I would give 10 stars. Thank you, Karen. I feel confident with my purchase.
I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Aaron’s in Columbia, TN. I received a bedroom set from them that was infested with bed bugs, which has caused a massive disruption and emotional distress for my household. When I contacted the store to report the issue, they refused to take responsibility or even come pick up the infested furniture. This is not only unacceptable, but also a serious health and safety concern. The lack of accountability and customer service is appalling. If you value your home and peace of mind, do NOT do business with this location. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere — no one should have to deal with this kind of negligence.
I bought a washer and dryer 4 years ago and paid my balance in full. After we moved I needed a refrigerator and stove for our rental. I went to the Columbia location and got a refrigerator first. That went ok. Then my stove went out a week before Christmas. Went in a rush to get one at Aaron’s. I was double charged for my deposit and NEVER got the 2nd deposit back. Whatever I was done arguing. Then I lost my 27 year old daughter. I was out of work for obvious reasons and missed 1 payment on each appliance. They immediately started calling me every day for weeks. I was on time with auto pay every month. Until I lost my child. I called corporate to have my “late payment” moved to the end of the rental, no response. Just constant harassment from the management. I rented a U-Haul and bought a refrigerator on Facebook marketplace and I also bought a stove. Now they are supposed to get this crap out of my house. Let’s see how long it takes….Well I was told today Monday August 25 originally and now it’s Friday… you get a faster response if you don’t pay. I also paid for Aaron’s club, which apparently means absolutely nothing when your child dies. Doesn’t cover bereavement, go figure. This is a trash company I will NEVER use again!
I wish I could have given zero stars. The employee's are a mixed bag. Some are very helpful and some are just down right terrible. After making my monthly payments on the grossly overpriced furniture I got from the store I finally made my last payment a few months ago. Since then I have had 2 to 5 phone calls a day telling me I needed to make a payment and drivers leaving notes on my door. After making multiple phone calls to the store I was told every time that it would be handled. The phone harassment and driver harassment eventually stopped but then I started getting emails saying that I owed 200 dollars. Called again and was told to disregard. Now just today I got a letter in the mail saying that I am seriously delinquent and that Arron's is entitled to immediate repossession of my furniture. I did my part and paid in full. If this is how Arron's treats someone who pays for their grossly overpriced furniture I would hate to see how they treat others.
