BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!!! Predatory sales tactics- RUDE EMPLOYEES!!!!!! My one star is ONLY because ZERO isn’t an option. Incompetent store manager Tony AND the credit manager. I was paying on furniture and a washer and dryer set and they couldn’t even nail down a delivery time frame once my home closed and I was ready… THEN once I finally got a delivery date- for that AM- they changed it to that afternoon without notifying me!!! When I called to question the change I was told “the system automatically changes because of the weather threat” …. Mind you the severe weather was for that afternoon… 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Didn’t mind taking my money until I was ONE day late. Then canceled my contract. Ironically enough, while in store signing my original contracts, Tony took a call on speaker- and the person TOLD Tony he couldn’t pay this week so he’d catch up next…. Tony said ok man and that was that..I suppose if you are a buddy of the “employees” they will let ya slide til you decide you can pay… Weeks go by and I was still receiving text to use my approval amount… So very dumbly I placed the order again… Paid the $10 for each item to be reserved ($20 total) cue the crickets- so a few days go by and I called.. Barely was about to hear WANDA for the blaring background show I must have interrupted for her… I was told “ you’ll have to come and speak with the manager to see about a new lease”.. NO THANK YOU PLEASE CANCEL. To which she responded she would cancel, and she hung up. That was Friday. Today 10-7 I decided to check to ensure canceled and lo and behold the sofa and A MASSAGE CHAIR WAS ADDED TO MY ACCOUNT(never even as much as looked at a massage chair) … So not only did she fail to cancel my order - she apparently added a whole other item to my lease… I called the Customer service line and was told my CARD PAYMENT Would be refunded in CASH at the store… I told the CS rep absolutely NOT and she put me on a brief hold- low and behold during this hold one of the $10 was refunded to my CARD. She came back and said “the best and only other option was for a call back within 48 hrs from the district manager. This establishment is a pure joke. I ordered the same sofa that I will actually OWN at delivery for $2k LESS so in the end all is well BUT I will sway any and everyone away from RAC. Save change if you have to until you have enough to purchase elsewhere instead of wasting your time with this place!!!! Again, buyer beware!

If 0 stars was up here that what I would give this store Tony is worse worse store manager, yall please think twice doing busy here, I wish I would of read reviews first, only ones can help call customer service team. & Tony will leave out a lot of details info until you contact customer service. Ain’t no damn way this store is 4 stars after reading these reviews. Please get another store manager in Darlington.

They hid details from me. I made the payment online, submitted my documents with proof of residency. Only for the store to tell me I HAVE to use a utility bill. Which I don’t have because I live with my parents. I have tax returns, bank statements (which is what I used online) and my license proving I’ve lived here. Also after paying what I was supposed to online the store told me that no, actually i have to ALSO pay 150$ to them before getting what I already paid and got approved for online. Complete scam.

The Darlington store is absolutely sickening!! I ordered a bed room set with Ms Laura she forgot to order the mattress which she said would be bundled with my order. Then the staff member, Miss Nikki called and said that it would take a few weeks because it is a special order which is understandable and she said that she didn’t see the mattress bundled in the order so she went ahead and put the mattress in the order. Mind you I have already paid the deposit. I did have to add more money and I said OK. I was a little irritated, but I said. Mistakes can happen. Then the delivery was supposed to be delivered and the delivery guy says the truck got infested with roaches so we will not be able to deliver the furniture and of course I agreed with that because I don’t want my house infested And I agreed for that day. on the day of delivery The driver calls and says we’re on our way to you. I let them know. I am home and then about an hour later the store calls And says oh yeah, just to let you know this didn’t come with a boxspring so you were gonna need to get a boxspring or get one of our boxes here and she said you’re gonna have to make another payment if you want our box we have.. I said Nikki why wasn’t this told to me a few days ago when I made the payment?? they’re scammers she got an attitude and like I said this whole time all of them have an attitude I said well why don’t you go ahead and cancel the order she got mad and handed the phone to the manager who was totally nasty and disrespectful. I called my husband to handle the situation, but he didn’t get a word in because I cussed that manager out after he lied to my husband saying I got disrespectful with them!!! they deserved every word this place all they care about is money and not even giving you furniture, nasty and rude and even the manager says we’re not worried about customer service. We’re worried about getting the furniture delivered to you are you serious? This place needs to be closed down and I did make a complaint with corporate , it is an absolutely horrible place

Went online and ordered a couch and love seat, they sent me an email saying I was approved, took the 1 cent down payment, gave me a confirmation number and all. Get a call the next morning saying they had to cancel my order, didn't give me an explanation, just said we'll refund your money. I've had problems with this rent a center since me and the lady Manager got into it years ago, they won't rent to me but won't say why. Never ran off with their merchandise, never damaged anything. I will be calling corporate.
