What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Aaron's directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

This company has poor communication and customer service. They also non stop harass customers until that customer either blocks their phone calls or changes their phone number. Back in June our family home was under condemnation where we had to unfortunately move out and find another accommodation until the house in question got fixed. We unfortunately had to stay with my mother in law, however we did not have a bed to sleep on, so I contacted Aaron's of Springfield to see what kind of deal I could get for a bed. I was set up with a deal and shortly after, they delivered our bed. I did remind Aaron's that this would only be a TEMPORARY solution but I was still going to pay nonetheless. On October 6th, we were moving into our new home so I contacted Aaron's letting them know that we no longer needed this bed and we scheduled for them to pick it up. The day they were SUPPOSED to pick it up, they called me to let me know they were on their way to get the bed. My mother in law was home and I contacted her to let her know that Aaron's would be coming. They did NOT show up. I got a call 2 days later from "Brad" at Aaron's telling me that my mother in law had called them and told them that the bed had "Stains" on it. I don't see how as the bed was in PERFECT condition before we left. We could not move it as it was on the second floor. Aaron's NEVER investigated this bed nor did they ever go to my mother in laws to retrieve the bed but they just went by word of mouth and then contacted me for a "settlement" price of 52.00 despite the bed being 2000.00 cash out price. I paid the "settlement" on October 11th but they have since called my phone multiple times every single day it is now December 6th and they have also sent multiple emails requesting MORE MONEY I do not understand this as I already paid them for the "stains" on the bed that they did not want back and they went by what my mother in law said in the phone. Moral of the story, I will NEVER rent from Aaron's again even if I have "credit" to get something else. I would like the phone calls to stop and the emails. Thanks

When we had Urbana deliver a couch set and washer and dryer, they failed to put the correct address on the paperwork. When we made the appointment with them to pick up (3pm-7pm), they never showed up or even bothered to call, even with their 4 hour time gap they gave themselves. When I tried calling the Urbana store at 7:10, they had closed already. Called the Springfield store and the lady stated someone should be on their way, they had the wrong address but they will DEFINITELY be there before 8pm. It is now 8:50, nobody has showed up and nobody called back with an update or to reschedule. Avoid this incompetent company at all costs!!!! Its clearly a problem from other posts.

Highly disappointed in the customer service. I made a payment for a dryer they scheduled a delivery for a Saturday all for me to call the same day and find out they don't deliver on Saturday so they said they would deliver Tuesday between 3pm-7pm they lied to me . Tuesday came an I called and they said they wouldn't deliver my appliances because they didn't know if I still wanted the dryer. They never gave a follow-up call to confirm. I didn't receive the dryer til Wednesday they gave me a too small cord (4in)that I can't even place my dryer at the angle it's supposed to be in and said I had to order a longer cord so I called back an asked could they help put the new one on 30 mins after they left . I've been waiting on them for hours just to still receive proper installation. It's sad I've been waiting days and hours just for a dryer. The customer service is horrible on top of them asking me over and over who am I when I call and them putting me on hold for minutes just to find my name in their system.I would put the cord on myself but they screwed the nut on too tight smh
