What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

manager is TERRIBLE. Communication was poor, terrible customer service. Madison is a terrible person to work with, and though I was warned about this place the overall experience was exactly what they said it would be.
Got a “brand new” marked down half off couch: knew it was too good to be true. It arrives the very next day and my two year old starts pulling cushion filling out. I pulled the bottom cushions out on both sides and the zipper was broken with all the stuffing hanging out. THERES NO WAY THE DELIVERY PEOPLE DIDNT NOTICE. I called and got them to pick it up to be fixed and the woman manager who wouldn’t give me her name said it would be sometime in next few days it would be fixed. 8 days later with no couch I called and she gave me a nasty attitude and I explained we have no couch I was just wondering the status on it and she said well I really don’t even have to get it fixed because I was told your daughter was pulling the stuffing out of it. WELL DUH SHES TWO YEARS OLD AND YOU GAVE ME A MESSED UP “brand new” couch. I explained I was going over her head due to her nasty attitude and asked for her name and she hung up on me. She shut the account down because of HER nasty attitude. I guess rent a center allows this kind of disgusting behavior.
Alright, so let’s start out with saying don’t ever buy anything that has to do with electronics from this store. I recently bought a ASUS Rog Flow Z13 from this store that was told that no issues and also it was in perfect condition and was told they would only take cash for this purchase which was weird out the gate. Soon after I got home with the laptop the laptop had multiple issues and the keyboard wouldn’t work at all. I also ended up needing a new charger because the older one wouldn’t work and also needed to take the laptop to another 3rd party repair shop and have the battery replaced which they didn’t even replace when they had it checked out the first time. This laptop wasn’t in perfect condition and also had to wait almost 2 weeks to get the laptop back when they first sent it in for repair the first time which didn’t even fix the computer just pretty much gave it a band-Aid. Also wasted $600 for pretty much lies and false information. All their electronics are either crap or cleaned up to look perfect but have issues.
This place has been great to me out of the 7 1/2 years. I’ve been going to them and bought lots of merchandise from them. They just turned over a new management and I was just turned down saying that I live too far away when they’ve been delivering to me for the longest Matt, I’ve been dealing with him For as long as I’ve been going there and Maria they are awesome people along with Edwin. I just got told that I live too far out of their range and they never ever denied me before. I’m very upset and sad that I have to go to another Rent-A-Center because of new management highly disappointed in Rent-A-Center there now like I said all the people I’ve been dealing with for almost 8 years are great people😕
It's frustrating how deceitful this location is; they used policies to their advantage at every turn. I wanted to purchase something else, but they told me I couldn't because my approval amount didn’t allow it—even though I had just paid off a gaming laptop and already had multiple items on my account. You would think that paying off a high-ticket item would encourage them to do more business with me, but instead, they refused. Previously, when I had a laptop, TV, and speaker on my account, my approval amount was higher. Now they’ve purposely lowered it and claimed I’m not eligible for anything else. A long-time employee, supposedly there for 11 years, told me this, but my experience with the Denver location was completely different—they trusted me, and I was always straightforward. Here, it’s been nothing but games. Yes, I was late on a payment, but they got their money, and I didn’t ask for any leniency. When two delivery guys brought my furniture, they immediately started complaining about having to carry it to the third floor of my townhome. They said they didn’t realize it would be going that high up and even mentioned they were planning to take a vacation after this delivery. This was just another example of the poor service and unprofessional attitude I’ve experienced from this company. On top of that, they delivered furniture they said was brand new, but when it arrived, I noticed a crack on the dresser. They still tried to charge me the full price as if it were in perfect condition. When I called for a discount, the manager at the time, Mariah, dodged my questions and never provided a clear answer. This shows you exactly what kind of place this is. I wouldn’t recommend doing business with them; they’re dishonest through and through. That’s why I chose to return my furniture and do business with Rooms To Go.
