What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Very unprofessional manager! Never do you tell a customer when they’re asking for upper management “I’m matching energy” that’s super unprofessional and that’s exactly how you lose customers. Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. 3 stars should speak for itself

If I could give a zero I will. Customer service is terrible and delivery suck even though they charge you for your things they will take there time to deliver it took almost a month to deliver and when they did they still didn’t have the whole set so I was told they don’t deliver when it’s wet or raining. After that they put another item on my account I didn’t buy or wanted and they charge my credit card for an unauthorized purchase and they couldn’t tell me why..Also they will discuss your business with someone that’s not on the account too. Soooo beware Aaron’s is way better this fly by night crews at rent a center is terrible. And they don’t have apple or tap pay so make sure you have a card on file so they can add additional charges too And they will scrape up the floor due to not have proper equipment for lifting like furniture dolly would have prevented the scratch’s on my hallway floor thru. BEWARE!!!!!

This place is a SUCH A JOKE. First I used one of the offers they have for first time buyers and was not told I had to pay an additional 160. Nobody called the app doesn't say anything either. I pay that then get told my items would be here to day between 1-3pm called at 3:41 to find out what was up and they said o the are in durham they are on the road you will get your delivery today. Waiting...... call back at 5:41 got the store manager or whoever that was . Me I know you all close at 6 still haven't heard a word your things are on the truck if it's on the truck it has to be delivered ok so how will I know they will call 15 min before they arrive well it's 11:26pm and still nothing I sat here waiting for these fools and done missed work cause of lack of communication this is crazy

I have dealt with this store on now my 3rd different time(I used them for staging homes for sale). First time, was okay, they really need to work on time management and sticking to a time when they say they will be there, had to reschedule twice. Second time, again with scheduling, but then I had the furniture picked up and they charged my account for the following two months, dealing with a corporate complaint now. Third time(at same time as second one, different home) again with scheduling. They do not keep good on their time. I am a stickler with this and usually very forgiving, but this needs to be addressed and coached from a corporate level. Leo was nice to speak to, and I am sure he doesn't have the easiest job int he world, but time management skills need work. Also stop charging customer once items are returned. He has not answered my call the last four times I called to store(caller ID), so I did escalate to corporate. Hoping for a positive resolution.

I have been a customer with this location for about 2 years now and Angel, Leo, etc, have been extremely supportive and helpful with creating a great experience and a positive relationship. I have leased multiple products with this store and I have had no problems with making payments with them, or asking them questions related to my lease. 2 things I would want them to improve: 1- Be more flexible when it comes to payment hardships - I know Aaron's has payment holidays, you'd have to coordinate with the store and let's say if you're on a biweekly plan if you got approval you can skip one payment. I believe the Rent-A-Center can implement a similar strategy. 2- Location: It's a pretty good location but it would be so nice if your store got a makeover - that'd draw in a lot more customers. Keep it up you guys!
