Dear Rent-A-Center of Asheboro, I’m flattered by the daily phone calls, really. It’s not every day someone is this committed to chasing me down like I’m a long-lost love interest. But here’s the plot twist: I don’t live in North Carolina anymore. I’ve moved to Florida. Sunshine, palm trees, and—get this—no harassing phone calls from furniture stores I never signed my soul away to. I’m also no longer in the market for overpriced, rent-to-own furniture that costs three times more than it’s worth and might come with more bugs than benefits. Wild concept, I know—but I prefer to buy my things now. Outright. From stores where “customer service” doesn’t mean “we’ll call you more than your grandma does.” So please, consider this my formal break-up. I’ve moved on. I’m doing great. Was told I would have the item delivered to my home the following week online after payment was made and approved. Then was told over the phone by your employees that no. That was not true I had to come in the store face to face and fill out more paperwork like references and proof of income before I was allowed to rent the item. This ruined my holiday because I was under the impression from exactly what it told me online that my rented item was otw that weekend so my son was beyond disappointed by me when his computer didn't come in like I had said it was. Made me look like a joke and a liar and now he won't talk to me. Thanks rent a center for being a baldface liar!

It’s b.s. that your approved online and make your first payment online just for them to say you need proof of residence, income, and a reference before they can bring the product. Total bs and I basically lost that first payment since my proof of residence being my ID isn’t enough for them.

The monthly payment that was initially agreed upon is not what I pay monthly. I pay almost $40.00 more than the initial agreed upon price. I was never provided a rental agreement contract, and have requested a copy twice with no call back as was promised. The staff are very friendly and misty went above and beyond in assisting us with finding the bedroom suite that was ideal for us and our budget.
