What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

do NOT get anything from rent a center!! I walked in saw 4 HUGE roaches running on there furniture. DISGUSTING. They pick up furniture from coustmers home with bed bugs and roaches then they sell them. This place is scam and literally disgusting. Higher ups don’t do a THING. The employee Alejandro is straight up rude . This company is HORRID. Please watch who you HIRE.

I was about to do business with them until my neighbor warned me of their predatory practices. She had paid off the cash value and wasn’t aware until afterwards. They kept charging her account even after they told her it was paid off. Then when she followed up to get a refund for the extra money they had charged her after completing the purchase, the store manager told her that whatever deal she had with the previous management is null and void and that she would have to pay double. She submitted a claim to a consumer attorney and is currently on working on suing the company. Besides their furniture is damaged anyhow. I saw this great sofa they had on display with a tear in it. When I asked to rent it, thinking that they had something in stock elsewhere, they wanted me to rent the tore up couch which was not worth the money. Avoid this location and the location in poughkeepsie. They take advantage of customers, especially women. Would never recommend.

This location specifically is very unorganized especially when it comes to handling online orders . I had purchased a couch through the website that was listed as good condition. I set up my delivery time and date and even called the store 3 days before the couch was supposed to be delivered and the associate told me that it was going to be there between my schedule time . Not a single time prior to me calling them did they reach out to me or to confirm the delivery and I got several remind text . The day comes and no one had called me so I call the store and speak to the district manager and she informs me that they do not even have me scheduled or in the system and that the couch is still on the sales floor . She also tells me they do not deliver on Wednesday and that the couch would not be delivered so I opted to pick up the couch because I truly did not believe they would do it in a timely manner . The associates working in store also was not helpful in the slightest when I was addressing my concerns with all the issues I had experienced when it was there location that lacked planning .

Ordered a bedroom set and when it was delivered it was put together in front of my closet making getting into it a problem. They put the bed together and broke the wood where the screws meet so I couldn’t not use the bed. I went to the store the next day and received terrible customer service. I asked them to terminate the contract and pick the bed up they said they would on Friday and it’s now Monday n no calls from anyone and nobody has come for the broken merchandise. I wouldn’t recommend ever dealing with this company.

This place has predatory practices. There’s no reason why their items cost 3x as it should given that the quality is trash. beware if you can’t pay it off within the 6 month time frame, you’ll be paying double. If you’re not 10000% sure you can pay it off within 6 months, don’t waste your time. Save your money and go to a reputable furniture place. The manager Joselyn is rude as hell if you want to cancel ldw insurance they offer for $6/month but is sweet once you pay something off then tries to regain your business. Girl bye. Also once you pay off your balance, they will constantly text, call, and email you. Just avoid this place, the company, and everything having to do with rent-a-anything.
