What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Aaron's directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

I've been a customer for many years and they've always taken decent care of me. Sure people may think that you pay more for renting items and you do, but it's not cheap crappy stuff. They have some quality merchandise.
We have rented from many different locations as we move often. Flint by far has been the worst experience we've had through Aaron's. We are currently renting a 3 piece living room set (used) and a 75" LG tv. Our couches plug in and have outlets. We love our couches. However it took almost 3 weeks for us to even get our furniture. The lady said it would be faster if you rented a uhaul and pick it up yourselves... ummm. That's the point of purchasing furniture is that you deliver AND set up! Well, as I mentioned our couches plug in. We are barely home so we haven't really had the time to mess with them. Today we did. And the people that delivered never plugged anything in... my fiancé and I have been trying to figure this out for about 20 minutes now and called the store to see if anyone could come out to see if they can figure it out. The response was "we will have to figure it out as a team". Now, my question is, why didn't this get done when our couches were delivered and why do I have to do your job?! I pay enough for this furniture for it to work properly and be set up for when I want to use it.. just the worst experience from an Aaron's... even Ionia had better management. Hopefully THEY can figure this out on their own.
My wife and I went to this store to get some stuff for our home, shortly after we realized the place was about to burn down, we moved in a panic, and told them the following day, they said that's fine we will pick it up August 17, we told them it should be picked up sooner because there is an emergency the House is about to burn down due to faulty wiring and we moved out of state. They called me today, August 29th telling me the stuff was all gone knowing we moved out of state and have no way to verify that is true. My wife let them know we will not be paying for that stuff we told them the next day they should have came to get it then. This place stole our stuff from the previous house we lived in and put it on us to pay the bill. Scamming people and using their misfortune to their advantage. Thank you Melanie for your very poor customer service.
I was having a off morning yesterday ( not in the best mood) I applied Monday for a laptop for myself & my kids for school. The lady who called me with approval was so funny she had me laughing so hard it completely changed my mood! On top of that she found me a new/used laptop for cheaper than what I was originally looking to pay.
I had a very bad experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. Firstly, they explain nothing to you about the way things work just have you fill out the paper work, which I did gave them my social security, proof of address, my license and my most current work tab which was literally two days old. When I left I was told the TV would be delivered between the next day between 3-7. Well the next day not only did they call the references but they didn't declare whom they were and what they wanted nor did they tell me they would be contact anyone. They were extremely rude to my friends I have known for years and then also tried to tell me I didn't own my house that I receive monthly bills for and am on the deed. Not that it was any of their business as long as I provided (which I did three different ways) that I lived there. Then they called my work, which when I apply there for this appliance (which was simply a TV) I told them clearly that I don't want them calling my work it would be unprofessional and that they could have a picture of my bandage as proof of my employment and that was it. They agreed that day that was fine as my check stub was only two days old and they had my badge. Well they called anyways thankfully they reached me and not my boss. Finally I had to just cancel my order with them and take my business elsewhere because when I called to talk with the manager, he was equally rude and dismissed my feelings on the subject. They were discourteous to my friends and I felt they were not upfront about the way they conduct their business, my experience with them for a TV( the cheapest they had for that matter) was unprofessional and not conducted in a way a person working in costume service should conduct themselves.
