What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Went in to look around for some New furniture for my Apartment.. The Ladies There was very helpful and patient with me. As an older person Sometimes it takes me a little longer than the young folks. The Sales manager showed me around and answered all the questions I had. She is very knowledgeable. We picked out a furniture set that will be perfect for my new place . Once I get moved I will back to get my order started Thanks Angie and the other Lady

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a place that I’ve actually bought things from. They will harass you constantly, which is super ridiculous at my job which I’ve called and complained about. If you miss a payment on the scheduled day by one hour, they will start blowing up your phone like crazy, which is crazy to me that they can take like 3 to 4 breaks a day because they come into my job to order coffee constantly I’ve never got to take 3 to 4 breaks a day. Val is not a nice person and should not be a store manager deal dealing with people. Not friendly, not nice not personable. Do not recommend going to this location. It’s awful once I pay everything off. I will never deal with this people ever again. I also already paid off something from them and I will never chose this location ever again I called corporate and complained 3 times. Do yourself a favor and do not go to that store they literally hire anyone. Must be nice to sit at a desk and harass people all day.

In the beginning they were cool and understanding, we were late on some payments because I had gotten hurt at work and went down for over a year so I was doing my best trying to pay on time while being messed over by workers comp constantly. We always had the money if I didn't, my fiance did, it was just a matter of getting paid. Near the end of paying off our agreement, I had gotten my settlement from when I got hurt at work and I told them I was gonna pay them off in full. Now they lied to me, Valerie the manager told me that I couldn't pay my agreement off online that for anything over $200 dollars I would have to come in-store and pay it off in cash. First off, my end agreement was over $2000 at the time, we are in rockford. That much cash in a store will get you robbed. Businesses here actually limits their tills on how much there legally allowed to carry in store so why are you telling me I have to come pay cash? Now I got smart and I went online and checked if it would let me ealry pay option both my agreements, and it did which tells me they were lying and something fishy was going on. The s main location is Hella sketch. Why did they want that much money in their store? They should be encouraging people to pay online. If it doesn't go through it tells you. It won't let you pay unless the funds are there so I dont see why I was told to pay cash in-store. Will never go back to this s main location would rather go to the next alpine rd one in loves park/ machesney park illinois. Much friendlier and a joy to work with. Brandi was a sweetheart at the n alpine location.

This place is the worse. My girlfriend just lease a king size bed from this location. First the bed was on place for order the customer service representative told her that the bed was going to be delivered between Wednesday or Thursday on the 11th or 12th of September. No call nor no one reached out. Friday September 13th me and my girlfriend went to the location to check out any updates on the delivery. Still there is no delivery date and these guys still have to check references in which they haven’t. My question is why do you take customers payments before checking references???? Rent a center has changed my girlfriend 3 payments already and she hasn’t gotten her merchandise yet. Rent a center I believe you guys should check references and deliver merchandise before charging customers weekly payments and they don’t have their product. You’re going to lose a lot of customers that way.

I have rented from this location a few different times and if it wasnt so close to my house I would go ANYWHERE else!! If you have an issue, then you better be persistent and contact the store because they are not going to contact you EVER!! Even if they say they are looking into something and will call you back in a few minutes, that phone call never comes. The lack of caring or accountability starts w/ the managers. There was a male manager there a few years ago and now it is Judith. She has no sense of urgency to make sure that she responds to issues or ounce of caring if you are satisfied as a customer.
