What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

I went there today and was very surprised with the store closing. The staff there was very friendly. Thanks Destinee, Kay and the rest of the team there. I was there last week and said the store was so much better, thanks for a job well done.Very disappointing because I was happy with shopping there again after living in the area for many years.

Destiny at Rent-A-Center has been consistently rude to us since we started doing business with them. Her employees have made repeated errors with transactions, and when it's time to correct them, she becomes confrontational with customers. My fiancé and I initially visited the store to purchase a sofa set, but we ended up paying for a dining room table instead. We waited for the advertised sale on the living room set, only to discover three days later that we couldn't get the deal. The contract was typed up incorrectly three times by her employees, and when it was time to explain why my card would be charged again, Destiny always had an attitude. My card was charged a total of $125, and it took four days to receive a refund. Destiny told my fiancé and me that we've been a problem since we started, and she has been very argumentative with us. Despite our efforts to communicate and resolve issues, we've experienced problems with miscommunication, delivery, and setup of our furniture. We even had to help move furniture in due to a lack of employees. There were three incorrect contracts, and overcharging on our card. We've also had to wait for a refund while receiving rude customer service. Kay called me and said, 'Don't be mad, Kalesha,' because apparently, they've been messing up since we started, making us regret ever signing up with Rent-A-Center. I wanted to write a review a month ago, but I gave Destiny the benefit of the doubt. However, after her rude behavior today with my fiancé regarding a late fee, I decided to share my experience. As customers who pay their bills, even if late, we shouldn't be spoken to disrespectfully and unprofessionally when calling to pay. My payments have always been made personally, yet she still treats me rudely.

My experience with store#4218 was horrific. My initial encounter with the store manager, Nicole was beautiful. After that, everything went downhill. Her employees, Jeremy and I believe, Reginald were disrespectful and unprofessional. When I first arrived to the store looking for a new computer, Reginald was hood and ignorant. He acted like he couldn’t find what I wanted and couldn’t order it for me. He also lied about my account and that I would have to pay multiple times if I didn’t order through them. I left the store disgusted and ended up ordering the item from rent-a-center online. The experience doing that was flawless. I waited 2 weeks, even though Reginald tried to say it takes 6 weeks or more. Once my order came I went to the store to pick it up, wasn’t the case. First, as soon as I arrived they tried to have me do a whole new agreement and payment even though it was already done. Second, they changed my payment even though it was paid for a month and wasn’t due until May. I decided to contact corporate to get this problem solved and the district manager, Josh was highly disrespectful. I’m a disabled veteran and have done business with rent-a-center for years. This store and its staff are not at all professional. If this wasn’t my home store I wouldn’t have done anything with this particular store. I tell anyone that if you’re looking to do business don’t do it with this store. I also called corporate and merge the called with the customer service representative, Maria and she didn’t even record what they said when they took it upon themselves to cancel my account. I’ve left several messages and they still haven’t had the regional manager contact me back but the district did and he was just as ignorant and disrespectful as his store employees. Calling corporate doesn’t help because all they say is someone will call you back. Take your business elsewhere, rent-a-center isn’t it. Who could help me with dealing with this issue? I’ve heard that this particular problem with this store has been going on for 9+ years and still no one has done anything. If us blacks stop doing business with them maybe that will help them get it together.

Excellent customer service ! .I used them for staging my property . Even they do not specialize in short term rentals , the manager Nicole was able to offer me the furniture pieces I needed . She even arranged the dining table to be delivered from another store .The selection is not very large but nice enough. Best thing - delivery and pick up is free !! . They also put the pieces together for you . Julian and Jeremy - the delivery guys were extremely nice . Will definitely use the rent- a Center again !
