What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

DEFINITELY DON'T NEED ONE IN THIS AREA IF PEOPLE ARE GONNA ACT LIKE THAT BECAUSE RENT A CENTER THINK THERE ENTITLED TO TALK TO PEOPLE ANY KIND OF WAY NOT DEALING WITH THAT AT ALL WHO EVER THE MANAGER HE VERY RUDE TALKING TO PEOPLE CRAZY DEFINITELY WILL BE CALLING SOMEONE THAT'S OVER HIM
I’ve been a Rent-A-Center customer since 1993 and 1994 and since becoming a customer At the Bolingbrook store 255 S. Bolingbrook the manager Mark has came by trying to fix my couch and was unsuccessful and said he would be back to replace my couch and never came back. I’m still waiting on Rent-A-Center to replace or fix my couch. I am a senior citizen with heart disease. Second stages of kidney failure. I have seizures. I recently been hospitalized. They still want me to pay on my furniture or they will come and remove it I don’t understand. Mark came by to fix my couch was unsuccessful. I called the Better Business Bureau. Are you gonna try to get in contact with Rent-A-Center’s District? Office was unsuccessful with that it was supposed to return my phone call that was unsuccessful. I don’t know what else to do as customer of a rental company. They should treat their customer with respect and courtesy saying that I am a former and reliable customer. I don’t know what to do from this point so if anyone have an idea, please leave me a message help me to deal with this situation. I’m in need of help.. sincerely Etta Chothen
Felt super unpleasant and unprofessional soon as I walked in it was like they didn't want me there. I'll never use or recommend RentACenter to anyone in the world. That was such a turn off and let down not at all what the experience should be . 👎Boooo They didn’t even try to assist me. I'd rather go to the DMV
Had a great experience with both Mark and Lupe. Everyone worked hard getting us what we wanted. Lupe has always been super nice and friendly. No complaints here.
I have my account on auto-pay and sometimes I forget to unlock the card or it sometimes just doesn’t complete the transactions. Every time it misses a single payment I get texts, calls about the payment which is fine because it reminds me. What is not okay is the lady who came banging on my door, ringing my doorbell like a mad man, and than just yesterday call my phone and say “you got my payment”. First off your a sale person at a rent a center, second don’t ever call my phone again demanding a payment. You remind me or make it aware that I am behind payments. DO NOT ever come to my house again banging on my door or call my phone again demanding money. I want to put the lady on blast but I’m not going to ruin someone’s ability to survive because they want to act like some empowered arrogant women. There will be consequences with corporate if my wife is scared like that again because someone wants to come banging on my door. I have your face acting like an unprofessional mad man and will send the video to cooperate if it happens again. Stop offering monthly payment options if you’re going to call if you don’t get a payment every week.
