What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Aaron's directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

THEFT, FRAUD, AND BROKEN PROMISES—DO NOT TRUST THEM Avoid this place at all costs. They literally stole money from my checking account. My experience started with a total failure in delivery. I ordered a specific product from their website, but they didn’t deliver it correctly. Instead, I was given a completely different, broken unit that I never would have ordered. It then took a staggering four months just to get that broken item back into their possession, yet despite the massive delay and the defective product, they flatly refused to give me my money back. To make matters worse, while I was fighting for a refund for a product I couldn't even use, they went into my checking account and stole money without authorization. After looking through dozens of other reviews, it is clear this is a pattern: * Unauthorized Charges: They treat your bank account like their personal piggy bank. * Bait-and-Switch: What you see online is NOT what shows up at your door. * Zero Accountability: Management refuses to issue refunds even when they are 100% at fault. This isn't just a "bad experience"—it is predatory and dishonest. I asked for my money back instead of the junk they finally tried to provide four months late, and they stonewalled me. They have no respect for their customers or the law. You are better off going anywhere else. You have been warned.

Formal Complaint Regarding Harassment and Illegal Collection Practices To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to formally register a complaint regarding your company’s conduct following my failure to make a $30 payment due only to a change in my bank card. Instead of contacting me by phone or in writing, your representatives came to my residence on multiple occasions, banging on my door and screaming in a threatening manner. This behavior is captured on video. On Friday, while I was at work, your representatives arrived and engaged in this behavior. When I returned home, your office was closed, and I planned to call the next morning (Saturday) to update my payment method. However, before your office even opened on Saturday at 9:40 a.m., your representatives again came to my home, pounding on my door and shouting in an intimidating way. This type of conduct is not only unacceptable but also appears to be unlawful: • Under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), 15 U.S.C. § 1692d, debt collectors are prohibited from engaging in harassment, oppression, or abusive conduct when collecting a debt. • Georgia law, specifically O.C.G.A. § 7-3-33, prohibits “unreasonable collection tactics,” including willful trespass to a borrower’s home without legal process, harassment, or conduct intended to degrade or intimidate a consumer. • The Georgia Fair Business Practices Act (O.C.G.A. § 10-1-390 et seq.) prohibits unfair and deceptive practices in consumer transactions, which can include aggressive or coercive debt collection practices. Your actions have caused me to feel unsafe and intimidated in my own home. If this behavior continues, I will not hesitate to involve law enforcement and file complaints with the Georgia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division as well as federal authorities. I demand that you immediately cease any in-person visits to my home and handle all future communications by phone, mail, or email. Continued harassment will leave me no choice but to pursue every legal remedy available.

I've had account here for years never really had a problem until this week. Had some financial situations come up and called and asked could I put my payment off until the end of the month? The manager said no problem just bring me a post dated check for the amount and post dated it for the 30th. Which I did and was told they wouldn't run it until then, hr even gave me the option of picking up the check before the 30th if I had the money by then. There was no problem until today they ran the check! And know I'm almost $325 short on my banking account along with the bounced fee charge!! Now when my wife check gets deposited in a week the negative balance is going to take away from our house payment, which now we can't make! I only have about three months left on my account. But this has really really messed us up financially I'm seriously thinking about just telling them to come get everything!!

Needed a washer and dryer fast, went to Aaron's on a Saturday afternoon, the young lady behind the counter was very nice, they only had 1 new set it was white I was wanting Black so I decided to go to Rent a center, The man was very nice they had no new set's. (The used ones they had looked nasty and cost as much or more than Aaron's new set.) Maybe it's just me, but the whole store looked nasty. So, on Monday afternoon, I called Aaron's and was informed that the set I looked at on Saturday sold that morning she did, though, have a brand new black set. So I went with it even though it was almost twice as much as the white set. Overall, so far, I'm ok with the purchase. One word of caution to people under 5'4" I'd check and make sure I could reach the bottom of the washer tub without a step stool before purchasing.
