What to Expect at This Store
Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.
What to Bring
- Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
- Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
- Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
- Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers
How It Works
- 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
- 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
- 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
- 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance
Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

This store manager has poor communication! Kept hanging up on me when I was trying to resolve my account
In November, my son and I came down with bronchitis. He was hospitalized, and I lost my voice, so I wasn’t able to respond to this store for about a week. As soon as I could, I called to update them on my situation and explain when I’d be able to make a payment. The manager’s response was shockingly rude. He demanded immediate payment, threatening that I was “breaching my contract.” Despite my health and financial strain, I took $200 out of savings and paid. I explained I’d be caught up by December 5th,when I received my Salary check and he said “fine.” But instead of honoring that, he began calling me every hour, sending employees to my home, and speaking to me with a tone that was completely unprofessional and lacking empathy. When I asked about options if I couldn’t pay until the 5th, he told me there were none that they’d pick up my items and “maybe give me another shot in a few months.” I felt taken advantage of and lied to. Things only got worse. He closed my account unfairly, claiming it was because of the disagreements we had with each other. Stating my account been closed and with that being said im not even sure where my $200 payment I had made 6 days prior was even applied to my items. The store associate even admitted he could do whatever he wanted because he’s the GM. When I tried to schedule a pickup, he refused to confirm a time, sent people to my house without notice, and laughed at me when I called to calmly discuss the situation. On multiple occasions, he hung up on me mid‑conversation, refusing to let me explain or resolve the issue. Each time I tried to speak respectfully, he would cut me off, laugh at my situation, and throw subliminal remarks clearly meant to intimidate me. His behavior was not only unprofessional but deliberately humiliating. He repeatedly said he would “do what he needs to do” without explaining, which felt threatening. He mocked me instead of offering solutions, and his team kept showing up at random times of the day knowing I work two jobs. He made it clear that everything would be “on his time,” disregarding any attempt I made to set up a reasonable schedule. This manager is vindictive, dishonest, and unprofessional. He scammed me out of my money, closed my account unfairly, and treated me with complete disrespect. The communication in this store is terrible, and the customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced. No customer should ever be laughed at, hung up on, or intimidated when trying to resolve a payment issue. This GM abuses his authority, and the company needs to take a serious look at how he is treating people.
I can totally understand that people have different experiences and sometimes the energy between people just doesn't always match. I can say that I have never had a negative experience. I have been late on payments before. I have also paid off several items. I have found the staff to be easy to work with. Just understand that people are restricted to what their POS allows them to do. Stores have policies and there's no magic button for them to press to accomplish certain things. Communication is key and they have always worked with me to resolve things when I was in a pinch.
The store manager here is the absolute worst human being to deal with. Calling 10 times and beating on the door every week when the payments aren't even late. Even have them on a doorbell recording trying to intimidate my neighbor into telling them when id be off work and home, when I had an approved payment waiver for that week. Plus they charge you for a benefit package that they won't honor. Go to literally any other RAC!
