What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

This is the worst place to deal with customer service is non existent unfortunately my Rent a center shut down and I am left dealing with this store I recently had a brain injury and as a result I have seizures I was trying to explain that to associate "Ryan" that my payment might be late because of the new year my check deposits on a different day he was not trying to hear it he said until you can get your financial situation in order maybe we need to pick up the merchandise until you can afford to make payments mind you I was trying to call to let them know my situation he made me feel like I was dirt under his shoe I thanked him for being so understanding and how caring he was and thank you ...I hung up started crying crying turned into a seizure it's hard enough going from working 12 to 14 hour shifts a day 6 days a week to not being able to walk without a cane and not being able to work a regular job just yet ...let a lone have someone treat you so badly ...I reported this store to corporate I hope they can get someone in this store that has good customer service because Isabel the manager let me know he didn't do anything wrong and it's just business and it's what they do for the good of the store and basically I'm just a number and I reassured her that in the end she is just a number as well in this big corporate world and without people like me there wouldn't be a job for her to do I then wished her a Very Happy New Year and blessings in 2026 and let her know I will be talking to someone in corporate

I love my Tyler Creek tv stand! I originally ordered a different one but it wasn’t as tall and I wanted plus it came in damaged, the team was really quick at ordering me another but I changed it to the Tyler Creek and I am soo glad I did! Thank you Isabel and Raymond for all your help at the Fairfield, CA location!

I contacted the Fairfield location and spoke with an Isabelle about renting a washer and dryer. She was pleasant and stated they would call me back within 24 hours. I provided all the required personal information, but ended up calling them back and to say the interaction was less than cordial is an understatement. I kept being passed around, AND hung up on not only by Isabelle, but also a male associate (which I didn’t write their name down). I wasn’t yelling, rude, or insubordinate. I just asked about the status of my application? I meet all the necessary qualifications, but NO ONE wanted to help me. Truly the WORST experience, and I’ve rented from Rent a center before a while ago and had no issues. I have no plans on renting from this location especially after reading some of the reviews! Guess it was a blessing in disguise! Ppl beware of this location, take your money elsewhere!
