How It Works

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:
Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

In August 2023, I purchased a bedroom set from Aaron's after first seeing it online and then visiting the Virginia Beach Boulevard location in person. I absolutely loved the bedroom set and completed the lease agreement, making seven payments and paying the account in full. I did not owe Aaron’s any money. Unfortunately, shortly after delivery, I noticed damage on the dresser. There was a visible dent, and I immediately contacted the store within the repair/replacement time window that was explained to me during the lease process. I was repeatedly promised that someone would come out to repair the damage, but that never properly happened. I dealt mainly with a manager named Jackie, and my experience with her was extremely disappointing. I found her to be rude, dismissive, and unprofessional throughout the entire process. On more than one occasion, I took time off work and stayed home waiting for repair appointments that never happened. At one point, I was even told someone had come to my home when no one ever showed up. Instead of properly resolving the issue, I was later offered another dresser that did not even match my bedroom set. There was constant back and forth, broken promises, and poor communication. I also received a phone call from someone claiming to be from corporate, who gave me a callback number. When I called the number back, it turned out to be another Aaron’s store, and I was informed there was no employee there by that name. That experience alone raised serious concerns for me about honesty and professionalism. To this day, I have made several calls to customer service regarding not only the damaged furniture, but also the way I was treated by the manager, Jackie. I was also contacted by another woman who I was told was a regional manager, and she too promised on more than one occasion that the issue would be resolved and the damaged item repaired. Unfortunately, those promises were never honoured either. What makes this experience even more frustrating is that, despite everything I went through, I still continue to receive calls and marketing messages from this store encouraging me to come back and spend more money with them. I honestly do not understand why they continue reaching out to me after the way I was treated and after failing to properly resolve my issue. Instead of valuing me as a paying customer and honouring their commitment to repair the damaged furniture, it felt as though the only thing that mattered was getting me to continue purchasing items from them. Looking back now, I truly did not enjoy the bedroom set the way I should have. Between the damage, the constant stress, the broken promises, and the poor customer service, the entire experience left a negative impression on something I was originally excited and happy to purchase. Over time, I also realised that the quality of the furniture was not what I expected it to be. The set did not hold up the way I believed it would, and I honestly feel that I wasted my money on furniture that was not as durable or valuable as it initially appeared. The entire experience became exhausting and frustrating. After spending my hard-earned money, making every payment on time, and fully paying off the lease, I felt completely let down by the company. Personally, I felt taken advantage of as a customer because I received damaged furniture and never received the proper resolution that was repeatedly promised to me. I am sharing my experience so other customers can make informed decisions before spending their money here. Based on my personal experience, I would strongly encourage customers to be cautious with this location if they value professionalism, accountability, quality furniture, and peace of mind.
The furniture my Son bought from yall is nice. The two guys Jamal and John delivered it . They did a terrific job. They were very friendly and helpful.
I was told that my stuff would be delivered within an a certain amount of time and then I give them call a week later and I get told it would be another week or two almost up to almost a month to receive my product that I have purchased from them a company should not be telling people you would receive something in a certain amount of time if they cannot keep that date all because they got backed up and could not keep the timeframe. They told me horrible service, horrible company
this is a fantastic service for military members as whatever they pay in in one state can be picked back up in another state! Cheyenne is particularly wonderful! Though everyone here is friendly and courteous and helpful.
I would rate this Aaron's and the staff 10 stars if I could. When I first entered the store I noticed how clean and organized it was. I was greeted immediately once I walked in. I had spoken with Krystal beforehand about the purchase I was trying to make. She guided me through process of purchasing for both their online and in store inventory. When I arrived at the store the store manager (forgive me for forgetting your name) already had my documentation drawn up and ready for me to sign. She's extremely knowledgeable and has an amazing aura. I live in Portsmouth and the store out there and their staff suck. They upset me so much I drove 30 minutes to this store in Norfolk. I'm very glad I did. Thank you again Janaf Aaron's team. You all are the best.
I was due to have delivery between 3 - 6pm. My item didn't arrive until 715pm. I took off work to be home for this, missing a total of 5 hours of work between 2 jobs. I called the store multiple times and was told, "we cant control traffic." 😤 I understand that...but with that in mind, why not plan for Friday traffic? The man that was sent to deliver my item was knowledgeable and professional and very helpful.
Wooo! Lots to say about this location. A little over a year ago I rented a gaming PC from here. The PC worked fine for two days before the graphics card pooped the bag. I sent it in to them TWICE because the second PC they gave me didn’t even turn on. So they graciously gave me an upgrade with no extra charges. Months go by and things are running smoothly. I always do EZpay when it comes to Aaron’s and just recently I’ve been bombarded with emails and phone calls stating that they did not receive any payment from me. Concerned of course I check my banking account and see that the transaction did indeed post like normal and on the due date through the automatic transfer. So there shouldn’t be a problem right? It’s been a whole week and I’m still getting calls stating that I haven’t paid and I’m being charged late fees. Their notes say that my payment was approved but something on their end is wrong. I’ve stated that if I get another call claiming I have not paid my dues, I will report to BBB.
