What to Expect at This Store

Visiting a rent-to-own store is straightforward. Here is a general overview of what to bring and how the process typically works. Requirements may vary — contact Rent-A-Center directly to confirm.

What to Bring

  • Valid photo ID — driver's license, state ID, or passport
  • Proof of income — recent pay stub, bank statement, or benefits letter
  • Proof of residence — utility bill, lease agreement, or mail with your address
  • Personal references — typically 3-4 contacts with phone numbers

How It Works

  1. 1 Browse in store — choose from available furniture, appliances, electronics, and more
  2. 2 Apply — no traditional credit check at most stores; approval is based on income and residency
  3. 3 Get approved — many stores offer same-day approval and immediate access to your items
  4. 4 Delivery or pickup — most stores include free delivery, setup, and ongoing service/maintenance

Typically included with rent-to-own agreements:

Free delivery and setup, service and maintenance for the life of the agreement, the option to return items at any time without penalty, and an early purchase option (EPO) to buy the item outright before the lease ends. Rent-to-own is not a loan or credit purchase. Specific terms vary by store.

Made, signed and paid for an agreement on laptop yesterday (Sunday, 1/11/26) with a gentlemen, very simple. He said I'd get a call to setup delivery today, Monday, 1/12/26 at 10am. No call. I called them and told them what I was told, she said I wasn't told 10am, that's when they open. Ok, it's now after 12....I still had to call them. Then the lady on the line said it had to be approved by a manager. The guy told me yesterday online, it was all done. I said ok. An hour and a half later, I found the person I was talking to online yesterday and I told him still hadn't gotten a call and could I deal with a different location. Then my phone rang. The lady said she had to review my agreement, asked about what happened when I called earlier, I told her, she said she had to look it over. Wouldn't someone who is a manager do that before calling someone about an agreement? She put me on hold, 6-7 minutes later she said another minute. A lil while later she asked when I get paid, I told her monthly, she said I had to pay more now cause it was a biweekly deal. It shouldnt matter. I can make a $70.00 payment twice in a month, no problem. She said it didn't work like that, I had to pay another 55-60 dollars. The guy yesterday online told me if I changed from monthly to biweekly, i can get the item for a lil less than 70 a week and just put 15 dollars down. Ok, that's what we did. Signed, paid and done. By this time I'm getting anxious and outta patients. I told her to refund my money and I was done. My bank knows me well, they always inform me of everything and there's no sign of a refund yet and the last call was around 1:30.... We'll see what happens next. I wouldn't recommend this branch to a soul....

Great place, they hooked me up with my ps5 and when the weather was bad with snow, she waited at the store for me to pick it up rather than leave to go home. She risked her life. I can't remember her name, but she was super awesome.

Well I hate to do bad reviews but here goes. I have ordered a brand new set of table chairs from Rent a center and I did all with my stuff online, so I had to call to change my phone number. So when the lady answered the phone, she was talking to somebody else and me at the same time. So I had to repeat myself which I don't like to do I needed to tell her the phone number. She asked me was I okay? Because I guess I sounded a little rude when I had to repeat myself at my age, I don't want to repeat myself, and when you talk to me, talk to me only well, then, I just hung up cause, I said, I am dealing with this. Well, I call back and the other gentleman answered the phone asked me what the problem was after I told him to begin with what it was, he wanted me to repeat. Myself too. And as I was telling him, he hung the phone up for i could explain a second time. When i called it several people talking in the background so once again , I didn't know who they were talking to me or the other people... They lost business , and they were very rude and unprofessional , I wouldn't deal with them or recommend them. So Rent a Center on memorial Ave in Lynchburg VA please get it together and my family recommended me to you all now I will talk her into getting her stuff somewhere else to. Wow please go to customer service school and mind those Rudd manners you all have.

I had scheduled a delivery to exchange my furniture, when they got here I could tell they were exhausted from the day, but they were still extremely pleasant and asked if I had any questions or anything before they left. They were even patient with my 4 year old who was telling them how to get the furniture in and watching every move they made.

They wouldn’t wait 3 days for me to make a payment , came to pick up furniture and this is how they treated their own merchandise! Guy pretty much broke it up to take it apart and threw it down on the ground ! Do not use this company! This is awful!
